It can’t be that surprising that they stacked the team. In 2022 after 2 years of Pogacar wins Visma ganged up on Pogi with Wout, Roglic and finally Vingegaard taking him. So the reaction to stack a team to beat 2 years of JV makes sense. The fact that JV crashed is the only thing that makes it overkill.

I believe that the stakes of the Tour de France are so high that this Dauphiné will be a training session for some. Perhaps those who won't be leaders in the Tour de France will try to win now, like Ayuso, Jorgenson (they also have a very good TT). I see Buitrago doing good in the last 3 stages. Evenepoel is coming off a clavicle surgery and HC is not for him, and I think Bora is a three-edged sword and test their usual strategy... attack with Vlasov, then maybe Hindley, and come what may... see what comes out of it. And about that Gall podium. I don't think he is participating, and even if he will, he is not good at TT. He will lose 2 minutes in that stage... how could he aim for the top 3?
