Just got my LG stylo 6 today and it's amazing..and the pearl like/iridescent back is beautiful. I'm not to sure why the brightness on this phone is dim in this video because the brightness on mine is fantastic! Maybe it's your battery?? What I truly love about this phone is the new look but the speakers on this is incredible. I mean the clarity is perfect. I'm still getting use to it but so far I love it!

I don't mind the 6 screen looking that darker because I always make my screens look like that because I don't like my screens to be that bright

Im fine with the brightness of the screen on the LG Stylo 6 because my eyes get strained very easily with bright phones

I'm thinking it is an attempt to save on the battery by dialing back in the brightness? Surely a screen that size with the same brightness of the prior stylos, would suck a 4000 battery down. Regardless the reason, it is a bummer.

I had the stylo 2 and 3 and both were very dim even on max they were hard to see in the daytime. I loved it dont get me wrong but that was a major downside.

I had a friend that said they used his pet for facial recognition. Not sure how that would work but definitely would be hard for stranger to bypass it. They also said they used toe prints instead of finger prints. Looking back in not sure if he was joking or just really paranoid.

And facial recognition on the Stylo isn't that secure anyhow. I have had Samsungs that were more secure, but still not as secure as an iPhone. I don't miss it on the Stylo series.

I have the LG Stylo 5 and it's one of the best budget phones I've ever bought. I'm still satisfied with everything and no complaints on my end. Not worth the upgrade tho..

Ordered mine today I'm excited!

The lack of brightness is a big letdown. I love the display of my 5, no regrets even more after seeing the dim 6.

The brightness isn't a huge problem for me because I usually keep my brightness low anyway all the time.

I have the lg stylo 5 and im pretty much in love with it

I'm currently waiting for my Stylo 6 to come in the mail. I've had the Stylo 5 since last August and I loved so I think I'm gonna love this new one too and this video helped me confirm that, I don't mind the brightness as I normally have mine near 50-60%. Looking forward to it!

As a follow up, I have now owned my stylo 6 for about 3 days. I have loved every second of it. It feels more powerful than the stylo 5 and having Android 10 makes everything feel so much better. The only really vice to this device (see what I did there?) is the elongated aspect ratio if you like to watch videos or play games in horizontal mode. It's not much of a hindrance but it's a bit worse than the stylo 5. Thankfully I spend most of my time of reddit and other social media, like most people nowadays. Hope any of this helped and I can answer questions about either device if anybody has any.

2:23. You're comparing two phones. One with a purple background, the other blue. Both phones should have identical content of every time. Blue=blue / purple = blue + red. A purple display is without a doubt shall be perceived as darker. And that's before the "gray scale" is introduced.

Love your channel. Got my Stylo 6 today. Noticed lag ASAP compared to my LG V60 and 23GB of memory already used for Android software. A bit bummed, but it's a midrange phone so I knew what I was buying.

I have the stylo5 and a moto g power . the 5 is a great budget phone , especially if you mess around with settings and get it running optimal . i use my moto at the moment , awesome battery life , sweet speakers , large screen and in proper lighting/situations a decent camera .

I've always been intrigued by the LG Stylo series, but not enough to pull the trigger on one. If I was going to get a new device right now, I would lean heavily toward the Samsung A71.

I used the Stylo 3 plus for a while when it came out. It was fine for the price (I got mine on a special at MetroPCS for $50), but if you have been previously using a flagship phone (even an older one) it's definitely a downgrade. I had been using a Note 4 (that was three years old at that point) prior to getting this and ended up switching back to it. The screen was way washed out, and the camera was complete trash. It did run fairly snappy though but I was having to still carry my Note 4 around separately just to take decent pictures, so I just switched back to it until I could afford to upgrade to a higher end phone.

@Cali 6311 Well I've never had the Note 9. I've got a Note 8 currently though and it's def. a much better phone (camera, screen, etc.). Granted it was a lot more expensive too (I bought it on contract when it was still the current gen.), but you get what you pay for. You can usually get like two year old flagships, like a S8/Note 8 for not too much more than what these cost. The one issue with the older phones though is they won't be getting updates (and you are probably buying a used phone instead of new). This is at least on the newest Android version, but if you don't care too much about that, then I would go with the older flagship if you can get one for a good price that's still in good condition.

Should've kept the 6 same size as five and just improved storage, wireless charging, camera specs (in terms of software, bigger sensor, mps), and battery size.

Sooo. Is the stylus pressure sensitive (like the older galaxy notes) or is just a stick with a bit of rubber like the cheap ones you can buy for any phone?

Had the Stylo 3 and recently got my Stylo 5. While I really like the camera upgrade, the size is too big for me and the screen brightness bugs me more than i thought it would. I'll stick with my Stylo 5 for now.

And did you notice that your screen goes dark during a live phone call on the newer Stylo versus the older one? That's a deal-breaker alone for me no matter what you do you cannot program the screen to stay on during a live phone call on the Boost mobile version of the Stylo 5

I like the 5 better. I just bought one recently.

Dimmer screen doesn't mean lower quality display. LG probably implemented the max setting to be lower than what the screen is actually capable of to save on battery life. While the Stylo 6 has a larger battery, it has a much larger screen, with an equally larger ratio to match. A 500mah difference isn't much when going from a 6.2" 18:9 to a 6.8" 21:9. Despite the Stylo 5 having the brighter screen of the two and higher pixel density, only because of it's smaller size, the Stylo 6's screen is way more clearer. That's how you measure the quality of the screen. A larger screen with the same resolution is going to have a lower pixel density, but even with that and brightness against it, the Stylo 6's screen and viewing angles are just way better.

Please do a picture and video comparison. Thanks for the good video Kevin.

Going to get it, but I'm not happy about the brightness. When does the camera review come out? I really hate the video cam on my 5. It won't focus rt and no slomo like my HTC had.

Its already hard to see the screen outside and sunny with the 5, so as much as I like the 6 better, the screen is 100% a deal breaker.

It would be nice to see somebody come out with something that competes with the note line but has those features

I always keep my brightness at about 50-60% anyways on my Stylo 4 so the brightness on the 6 is not a concern to me. Being not as bright might save battery life anyway.

Battery life is the whole reason they make the screen go dim but worse than that they let the screen turn off during Live phone calls they should give you an option to toggle screen on during a live phone call

The Stylo 6 is a definite upgrade. The duo speakers, and 3 cameras. The screen size is nicer. My only gripes are the screen brightness and the processor. I think the processer is good enough though to do most tasks just fine.

I hope that t-mobile will carry this phone soon. The phone seems pretty good aside from the brightness. Also is the stylo 6 as customizable as the stylo 5?

I have the stylo 4 and I really am considering getting the 6 I really love huge phones and when I upgraded to the stylo 4 from the Aristo I thought it was great and an even bigger size better features but I see the stylo 6 has a larger screen resolution. And 64 gb of memory you can't beat that

The battery life is good it lasts at least one full day and if you're not using it turn it off and it'll last for days

I own a Stylo 5 and the only reason I would like to have the Stylo 6 is the larger/longer screen to read my kindle books. I can see that a book page will benefit from the longer screen. I wish the Stylo 6 had at least 4GB of storage instead of 3. I wonder how long it will take LG to come out with a phone with more storage. The screen brightness may not be an issue for me as long as it still has the comfort view feature. I would not want to use face recognition and really like the fingerprint feature. I'm not sure if I should wait for a newer phone to come out or go ahead and get the Stylo 6. Thanks for the great video. Very helpful.

I have a stylo 5 and when gripping it to turn on, I notice having the volume button directly across from the power makes me always lower the sound when I turn on. That's an annoyance. I got it intending to give it to my partner, but they like their cheap phone better. We just use it for emergencies on Spectrum by the gig. Less than $25 for phone and 1 gig of service. I don't think I'd get another and I'm not going to upgrade.

The stylo 6 Display is the killing factor for it. If I can get the Stylo 5 for cheap it’ll be my perfect backup phone

I was always amazed at the brightness of my Stylo 4 $150 4yrs ago and still going strong , it seemed no matter what phone I put alongside of it still has its really bright colorful display and according to the specs there really was no reason for it? anyway for two hundred bucks I was going to buy this stylo 6, but now you have me worried. could it possibly be that particular phone has something just with that one you have there?because in general one thing about LG phones is there big bright colorful screens so now I'm a bit worried anyway if something changes please let us know thank you Kevin as usual good review otherwise

Does this work with SD cards? The LG Stylo 5 does not work with memory cards. I was constantly having a problem with storage. It died and I do not intend to fix it for use.

Also a big disadvantage to me on the newer LG stylos are on my V Princeton if you are on the phone the screen goes dark now say you're trying to punch in number pads with a bank or financial transaction the screen goes dark before you can punch it in the older Stylo that's not the case

I would like to see how big a contact picture would be under someone's name on Stylo 6

Thanks for the comparison. I only wish you had addressed the elephant in the room. Can apps be moved to the SD card? They can't on the Stylo 5 (Boost Version). If it's the same with the Stylo 6 then I would tell people to stay away from this phone no matter how big of an SD card it can hold.

After having the Stylo 4 for a year, I got the Stylo 5 for free, switching to boost mobile. I loved it. The extra gig of memory helped a bunch. I just ordered the Stylo 6 and I'm pretty optimistic. Better battery, storage, processor, cameras and display (minus the brightness). I can't want to test it out.

I like the stylo 6 and never used the stylo 5. Only problem I have is it bogs down and even froze up a few times and none of the buttons would work. I had to reset it.

Once you load several apps on the *STYLE 5* and pics etc. It then gets *VERY LAGGY* ❗

I had the Stylo 4, and 5 models. Loved both of them except the charging port is the weak point of the phone, both were useless after 7-8 months which was pretty disappointing because I liked the rest of the phone's features. Switched to the Motorola g7 Supra afterwards and have liked it so far.

I owned the stylo 5 for almost a year and was told by LG that a patch would be coming to allow actual SD card support. Sadly I don't think that has come yet and SD cards are still useless on the stylo 5.

One of the biggest things I look for in a new smartphone is micro SD card slot . I want my extra memory to be portable. I'm not down with facial recognition tech. Fingerprint is as far as I'm willing to go ( privacy ) I just got the Stylo 5 and am happy with it .I previously had the Stylo 3
