I like the LG it has a great app for optimizing soud and it's perfect for a medium size room I didn't like the spacing for input but after set-up it's cool. And once you have the app you never need the remote.

I got ss b650 today with for $110. I am happy with it.

I just went to best buy and listened to both of these and came home and viewed your video for a second opinion. Me listening the samsung in person the clarity is amazing. If you want more louder sound and better bass buy the LG

Did I hear you right when you said the front panel display on the LG sound bar is on all of the time? It seems like that would be a huge distraction as your eyes would go to that display rather than looking at the TV. Even on my cheap TCL sound bar the display lights up when the unit is turned on sound mode is switched or volume is changed but within a few seconds it goes to black

Yes you heard correctly, it stays on. It only goes off if you turn off the soundbar, I agree with you that can be distracting.

Nope you can put the sound bar on night mode in the app and the display goes off

@@Mark-wq1nh Yes but night mode isnt the same as just the display turning off, bascially night mode will change the sound quality (made for listening/watching when your not trying to disurb people)

@@davebanter Mark is correct . I emailed LG and they confirmed it can be shut off. I purchased it right after getting my LG oled. The display can be turned off using the app. It comes back on when volume is changed but turns right back off. One thing I like is with the LG sound bar I now get on screen volume which I didn’t get that with my TCL soundbar paired with the LG oled

I would go with the samsung B650 between those choices.

I have LG in the living room in my room. I have a Samsung., so now I was trying to decide if I should get an LG or a Samsung for my office/Man cave, thanks dude you just made it a little bit easier cause I’m getting a Samsung with a cu8000 TV

@@davebanter wow a 5 inch driver gives bigger bass than a 6.5 in driver is amazing...I have an older lg sl4 300w soundbar with 6in bass driver powered 200w works great and the design is very identical to this sub.

Hey, I have my experience with the B650 so that's what I would recommend to you. You can definitely connect your phone via Bluetooth

I’m trying to decide between the Samsung HW-B650 and the JBL bar 2.1 they are around the same price. Which one would you say is the better choice? Thanks!

Hey, if they are around the same price I would make my choice on a few things. If Punchy Bass is important get the JBL but if voice clarity is more important (3.1 center channel) and you have a samsung TV, Samsung would be my choice.

@@Gustavofring444 Yes the clarity is good for the JBL, The Samsung B650 just gives you more manual control over the center channel but you won't be dissapointed with the clarity JBL delievers.

I prefer the LG personally for my use. I just think the samsung preformed better in some areas but I still recommended the LG S65Q too.

But here you did not adjust your subwoofer settings on the samsung by default it is at 0 which is low. I cranked my sub up and it rattles my whole apartment. I would go with Samsung even though i have Lg tv. Samsung doea not make inferior products.

LG app makes a big difference. You can disable the LED display, software updates. Very basic speaker settings. Odd configuration sound settings. The DTS and Meridian are completely ineffective, at least to me. This is a basic bottom tiered soundbar. Wish I'd upgraded.

Samsung is better.

That Samsung will break 10 minutes after the warranty runs out

Mine made a weird surround test pattern and then the ARC stopped workjng. Lucky i bought the 3 year extended and The Good Guys swapped within 72hrs. Kaput 20 days after warranty ended.
