I have a similar unit but theres a humming when the unit is turned off and the coils heat up? When i turn the unit on it works fine but what could be the problem? Electrical? Control board?

Screws serve a purpose. Know not to hire you.

I agree that all screws serve a purpose. I take the age and overall condition of the unit into consideration and in this case these 15+ Year old units have all been ripped apart for numerous repairs, missing screws and overall not in the best condition. I don’t recommend leaving screws missing, but in certain instances its almost impossible without injury, scrapes, cuts and the way i see it if each part is serving its purpose and is safe/secure. Given the age and condition of these units. I don't believe 1 or 2 missing screws is the end if the world. However newer / good condition units are a different story. Although every job i like to be 100% through and accurate as i can be. An aging poor condition unit like this just isn't worth the injury/wasted time for an extra screw that will make no difference whatsoever.

I work on these, hidden screw to take the whole control box out and you can see that hidden screw and get to it with any Phillips number 2..

@James Zelandi injury/wasted time?? Lol I replace these regularly and have never injured myself or wasted time. I have big ass hands and I can still get under it and get that screw in relatively easy. Regardless, it shouldn't be taught.
