I am so glad to find your video. I have this microwave and the bulb just blew. I noticed how hot the old bulb was. It kept the inside of the microwave so warm that I put cold butter in it to soften. :-/ I won't miss that "feature." I am going to order the LED bulb you showed in the video... Thanks a million.

We put the halogen bulb back in and it worked fine. I guess the new bulb might be defective?

I was so excited to find this video, as I have been looking for a viable replacement for the horrible halogen bulb my LG microwave came with. I got the replacement bulb from Ace hardware, with the GY8.6 base. However, IT DOES NOT FIT. The prongs are what seem like a millionth of an inch too fat to go into the socket. I am so bummed. My oven is model LMVM2033ST.

Just bought a bulb off eBay and was sent a bulb that was NOT the same as advertised in stupid post. Prongs were wrong. Just ordered off ACE and will get curbside pickup in a few days… Thanks

Thanks for sharing! I will do this to my microwave. Do you have trouble pressing the buttons of this microwave? It's not like they don't work, but I feel that I need to press them a little harder than I would liked to make them work. Also, I'm bit pissed that the touchpad got scratch just by cleaning it with a microfiber towel. Have you experienced any of these issues with this microwave?

You are not supposed to press them. Just touch them and they will work.

We have the same microwave and were so happy to find your video. We got the same bulb and were very happy with the results...until today. It's been two weeks and now the light doesn't work anymore. Is your still working? Thank you.

Mine still works fine. We use it every morning and every evening with no problems. I'll let you know if mine stops working. If you find a bulb that works better for you, please let us know in the comments. Someone might find the information helpful. Thanks.

Same microwave as yours, but mines bulb is a screw in. I found that out after I bought this one and realized it doesn't fit 😢

Can you tell me if this microwave is very loud when its running? I just got this same microwave and it seems extremely loud by comparison to the last one we had??? Any insights would be very helpful.

Mine is quiet. I also have a countertop microwave. Both of my microwaves make about the same amount of noise.

Is the new bulb 2-way like the halogen or is it just one brightness?

It's supposed to be a dimable LED, but in my microwave, both the low and high setting seem to be equal brightness. The LED is slightly brighter than the halogen, and it's a lot cooler.

On the low light setting, the bulb flutters for me but is fine when the light is on the high setting. Never use the low so doesn't matter to me.

Great video, but like many others have said, the bulb is a ghost.

I enjoyed this video but I went to 2 Ace hardware, Home Depot , LOWES and a true value and nobody has this bulb for replacement

I did the same thing. No one had an LED bulb that would fit, so I ordered it online. You should be able to find one with a google search.

Actually, I ordered it from Ace Hardware on the internet and picked it up at my local Ace Hardware store.
