what year was this monitor LG 27UK500-B released and is it Display port 14. OR 1.4a

The first letter after the screen size (e.g. 27, 32, 34, etc.) can be G for UltraGear (gamer line), W for ultrawide (general ultra wide line), U or P (2021) for Ultrafine (creative line, generally not ultrawide). The B line of products are the business varients of the G W or U lines. They are likely the exact same monitors but with extended warranty. For the second letter, P is for 2021, N is for 2020, L is for 2019, K is for 2018, U is for 2017.

I am looking currently at a 27up850-w and there is a 27up850n-w, the difference I could find so far is usb c is 90w on the n and 96 on the one without, but I am not sure if there is something else, are there any other differences, do you maybe know or can tell from the added N? Would appreciate it as I have found a few 'N' models that are quite a bit cheaper around where I live, the usb output difference doesn't seem like a deal breaker. thanks!

For what I have read the 27UL monitors all share the same panel, but not functionalities, which means some are height adjustable or support USB-c or have speakers. This week I bought a 32GP850-B monitor online and, when it was delivered at home, I couldn't find the -B anywhere! I thought the send me an old or lesser model, but from what I am seeing, it ok that it just says 32GP850. Now I feel relieved and ignorant at the same time! LOL Thanks for the video! Two years old and still educating people! I don't understand why LG doesn't make this info more easy to find...

Here it is almost 2024 and LG has come up with a great new monitor: the Smart Monitor. I bought a Blu-Ray Disc and then had to buy a Blu-Ray player but I can't use it with my computer so I had to find a substitute: I found it in the monitor and while researching monitors in general, I found the LG FHD Smart Monitor with webOS23 and it had the HDCP which is needed to play any CD, DVD or Blu-Ray Disc. My last purchase of LG products was a 43" 4K TV that had many features and had a beautiful screen. So I would trust getting a monitor from them. I don't have access to a TV but I do have a great internet and network so anything is possible.

Hello RTINGS, I have used your platform for comparing monitor models since it is the most useful and detailed one, also today I found out you have a YT channel as well. This video was nice overall and informative but I would like to ask for a little info and advice over some LG models that I am considering buying. In my country I saw similar priced LG 32GN600-B , 32GN650-B , 32GK650F-B. In the review of GK650F in your site, you mentioned that the contrast was better than 32GK850G! From other places I know that the panel between those two is the same but the colors were a little more vibrant on the GK850F but not so much... The price difference is 200$ so I decided GK650 to be a better choice over GK850... At the same time I am confused because I see 2 other similar models (LG 32GN600-B , 32GN650-B) but at almost the same price where I live. From your site not all are listed but from the basic info I see that they are all good for gaming with high refresh rate, low input lag, low black smearing for VA panels (this one based on random comments), but what I was wondering is which has the best picture quality and lowest black smearing? I know that VA has double-triple the contrast compared to IPS, but it has black spearing. On the other hand IPS has IPS glow and low contrast, so even if the colors are more vibrant there is no such depth in the picture and also bad for playing in darker room or watching movies... Can you please help me with the choosing and give me an advice which of these is the best choice for me? Also in the price range of 350-400$ is there something better than those LG's (VA with low "black smear", IPS with good contrast and low "IPS glow")?

How about LG 27uk650 , i really liked the 27GL83a-b as it seemed like the whole package to me but after all the bad reviews on amazon about the backlight bleed & black uniformity issues, now i wonder if I should consider the 27UK650 instead since i will be mainly watching videos on it , I care more about color accuracy - wide gamut , don't know which should i get , any help guys will be appreciated .

I heard the LG GL83A-B produces a more realistic and true to color picture while the 850-B has more of a saturated look to it.

There are four points, that matter to me most: (Proper) HDR Refresh rate (144Hz up) Freesync (without losing overdrive) Price (about 700€ max) HDR and Freesync implementation are most important, those should be told with every "review", properly.

Why I can't find any 5K 27" Thunderbolt monitor anywhere. 4K is useless on Mac because 1.5x scaling cause performance issues, while 2x scaling is more fast and fluid. So we definitely need more 5K 27 and 6K 32 displays.

What does the B stand for “27BL85U-W”?

They're the exact same panel. Only difference is 27GL650F has x2 HDMi & x1 Display Port, while 27GL63T has x1HDMi & x1 Display Port.

The best looking monitors for 2020 are the Samsung g9 or g7 or the lg 48cx

@@keishabarwise4208 I bought both and definitely decided for the 32" 4K 16:9 and returned the 21:9 straight away. the 4K experience is great and the 21:9 is not a "natural" ratio to my eyes.

I have the LG 34GK960F. I don't think I will literally, ever need to upgrade. You might think I'm crazy because standards for tech always get better. But the difference between 1440p and 4k up close isn't worth the performance drop. There will always be a performance drop. But 1440p will always look clear, even 100 years from now. Same goes with the Hz. 144hz is plenty fast enough. Sure 240hz is definitely better. But only by a small amount which is barely noticeable.

You`re right almost, K960F one of the best ultrawide for this price. 240hz dosen`t need for basic fps player. I think makes sense to do upgrade if someone release OLED true HDR for K960F price in future.

What the hell? The lG27GL83A is slightly worse in EVERYTHING compared to your tests than the LG27GL850? According to your earlier review (video & website) they perform the same! I based my LG27833A purchase decision off the advice from your site!

32GK60W-B ...

Unfortunately, there is no 4k monitor on the market with 120+ hz and gsync.. No work + sone gaming option. I hoped to see new models this year, as new consoles with solid 4k are coming, and new gpus also expected to be solid in 4k, however, no good monitors to work and play with a comfort ..

Inbound... LG 27GN950-B due for release end of august and you can pre-order. This appears to meet your requirements though you want to study the DP1.4 with DSC as no panels come with HDMI 2.1 quite yet. But it is 144Hz native refresh with 10-bit color (FRC), gsync compatible and HDR 600. Response time claims 1ms by LG but no panels actually are in practice.

Tried several LG monitors, all have suffered from very bad back light bleed

Yeah, unfortunately this is a common problem (not just for LG, but with all IPS monitors). The only real option is to buy from a retailer with a good return policy as it varies on a unit-by-unit basis.
