DIY; Clogged front drain hose Take a coat hanger or other long flexible object. Carefully insert into the hose till ot stops. Be careful not to damage the hose and do not pull excessively on the hose. With small push-pull motions, patiently work the "plug" inside the hose. You will see water starting to drain. Keep working the plug untill a full stream is noted. In my case, I also ended squirting water inside the hose with a small syringe used for printer refill which opened it right up.

Mine seem SOLID with something... looks like it might be sand (kids put beach towels in without shaking.) This might take a while - eep!

My drain hose pipe has never worked on my washing machine, the water is all trapped in the filter and goes everywhere when I open up the cap. How can this be fixed?

On the video the last hose that is shown, is that from the back of the washer or the same small FRONT hose that is next to filter? The picture just looks confusing I want to make sure before I try it

I have mw9000hva model. After each weeks wash it is difficult to drain the water completely from the pipe. The pipe is not long enough to stretch it to drain into some container. It’s a pain to do this every week. Ours is new and so far no issue but this is one of the regular maintenance items. Why can’t they provide a long enough drain hose pipe at the bottom. Any extender pipe to attach to this?

When your front load washer drain plug gets clogged, what can you do? My washer’s main drainage hose is fine, but the small drain plug located in front of washer no longer drains. The cap next to it drains, but I hate spilling water everywhere. Something that is needed for maintenance I believe, so worried this problem can cause other issues down the road. I imagine there’s a thin snake you can you use to remedy issue, but not sure what to get that won’t cause damage.

This happened to me, there was sand blocking the drainage hose. Depending on your model, you may be able to remove the bottom panel underneath the door. Make sure the washer is unplugged and empty of water. If there are 2 screws next to the drain filter you can remove these and the bottom panel on the front of the washer can be removed. You can now see inside the bottom of the washer and you can trace the drainage hose to the point where it meets the water outlet. You can pull the hose off the outlet and clean it in the sink. I just blew the sand blockage out of the pipe and ran some water through it. If you don't have the panel it's a bigger job as you'll need to take the lid and front of the washer off.

@@celluloidjunkie83 Thank you, the kind of suggestion I was looking for. I have a Kenmore HE 41162 front load washer. They practically look the same as these LG models. Do see two screws to access the panel. I'll try what you suggested soon and might follow-up with how it went when I do.

While trying to clean, my drain hose went inside and now I am not able to pull it out. What do I do? Is it still safe to use the machine to wash? Will that push it out? I live in Texas and I have a front loader. Please help.

This small drain hose is just an extremely poor piece of engineering. Mine is blocked with fine sand, and I'm trying to unblock it with a skewer. Surely there is a better way...

I got skewers I was gonna carve like a drill so it could grab the sand, but there's a curve at the end I can't get around...my washer stinks and I thought this would help..

The little hose part that comes out so you can drain the water has gone completely into the hole and I can't get it out as its not that easy to reach in for it. what can I do? Is their anyway to take off the front of the washing machine so I can get it out?

@@LGService4u hi! I took the house out and opened it to release the water but no water came out. I waited and nothing happened so I took out the filter and all the water came out from there (quite a lot). So I wonder if that means the hose is clogged at some point. I’m having issues because the machine is not drying clothes properly as it used before (but not sure if the hose has anything to do with the drying part). Thanks in advance

if the washing machine performance is good in regard to the cycle completion then there is no issue with the drainage because usually if the there is an error OE will appear. in case you have cleaned the filter and the washing machine is working fine now then there is
