Thank you! I started smelling a burning smell this week in my LG dryer. After searching on Google this was the first video I found. I did a cleaning maintenance in the spring when I pulled my dryer from the wall to clean the vent tube, but did not realize I needed to take the small side panel off to clean inside.

I have a roper dryer LP gas the burner lights but never goes out dryer may run for 1 1/2 hours i have cleaned every thing i would think the burner would go out sometimes any ideals

I'm getting a zippo flame smell? is that the smell the lint gives off?

Why in the WORLD DO THESE LG DRYERS (AND POSSIBLY OTHERS)PASS PRODUCTION INSPECTION WHEN THEY ACCUMULATE LINT SO BADLY! MY LG IS GIVING ME A BURNT SMELL AND HAS SCARED ME TO DEATH! OUR DAUGHTERS HOME BURNED COMPLETELY YEARS AGO DUE TO A DRYER FIRE AND WE REMOVE THE LINT FROM THE LINT TRAP EVERY TIME WE USE THE DRYER. APPARENTLY THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND NO ONE WARNS US OF THIS! THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!

It’s probably due to a blocked dryer vent tube that’s allowing lint to build up inside the dryer cabinet.

Our dryer doesn't have that burnt smell but if I am not right there when my clothes get dry my clothes smell musty. They don't smell clean anymore. What could it be. Can you run this dryer without the water hook up?

Hey Raymond, highly likely your washer is the cause. The black mold that builds up on the door gasket is the cause👍

No lint, but I still get the smell.

Do dryers have an automatic shut off or kill switch feature if they sense sparks or fire internally?

No, But they should. If the machine gets too hot while running it will cut power but it has no way of sensing if there was a flame inside the cabinet.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel yep! Dryers can only sense if they are overheating or if there is a restriction of air. (LG dryers can actually give you a percentage of how clogged up your machine is d80 means your machine is 80% plugged up, and d90 and d95 mean your machine is clogged 90% or 95% respectively) the issue is that bulky blankets that may sit up against the interior vent where the heat comes into the dryer will trip this sensor and cause the machine to start throwing error codes everywhere. I remember the day I brought home my LG dryer it was throwing d80 codes every time I would dry this really fluffy comforter but never when I would put anything else. I figured the comforter was partially blocking the vent and caused the FlowSense computer to think there was a lint blockage somewhere 😂

I herd a noise and then got the clothes out but t still herd the noise ....wen i open the door there was a bright red and smelled like if it was burning ......
