Thank you Asia Trend for being there. That is us, my family in the center. Me with the long brown hair, my son in the white t-shirt filming, and my beloved mother in the center in her wheelchair in the yellow shirt. we enjoyed the dance so much. Had a great time. My beloved Mother is no longer with us, so, seeing this brought back memories of the good kind and it meant a lot to us. I had no idea I would by accident see this in 2019. I think it was meant to be. I did not know it was being filmed from behind us. A very nice and pleasant surprise. Thank you, we have been memorialized. Great job! from the bottom of our hearts!

The best singkil choreography I've seen. Flawless. Even the lead characters were obviously trained dancers. Not just someone who knows how to dance. Kudos!

Yes the dance is a bit modernized... even the costumes, the Princess usually wears a long skirt, but beautiful and majestic nonetheless.

I keep on coming back in this Singkil dance by Leyte Dance Theater all of them are great dancers! It's the best!

Of all this the Singkil Dance performed this is one my favorite They dance gracefully with their bodies bend when they danced in the bamboos.Kudos Guys even the princess danced beautifully.

You should performing in a bigger events!!! Napakaganda ng Chrography ng Sinkil ninyo!!! World Class talaga!!! Mas lalong mas maganda kung hindi inalis yung umbrlla girl!!!

Singkil and tinikling is always my favorite Pilipino culture dance when your not looking down and do it gracefully like it should be, I saw some of this performance the dancers just running around like crazy, too much disrespect of a beautiful dance.

Wow, a completely different version w/o the princess' umbrella-maid! It looks a bit bare, but actually is full of rich dance moves & choreography...wow, guys!

Singkil is a Maguindanaon term for anklet..that is why the princess should have to wear an anklet in this dance because that is the very heart of this masterpiece. So by that, it can be concluded that singkil is originally a Maguindanaon dance.

To be corrected singkil is originally from maranao dance as far as i know ,maguindanao traditional dance is sagayan resembles to war dance and pangalay is a tausog and sama dance both beautiful and different from one another

Nice inclusion of pre-Islamic Javanese/Balinese influence on costumes. Very elaborate bamboo poles choreography. The singkil is of course a traditional royal dance of the Maranao people of the southern Philippines…usually with traditional Muslim influence/costume.

I have nothing against the groom but damn you cannot spin like that. This is not a fairytale dance. To the choreographer, this is a traditional dance. You can improvise it but not to the extent that you ruin the sanctity of this wholesome dance.

I have no idea what they are up to but back in those days we had Leyte Kalipayan dance Company they were much more solemn and articulate with their movements under Teresuta Pil. I feel that this is but a substraten of the initial quality of the LKDC. This is more like a circus in terms of costume and some copy and paste of LKDC.

Singkil originated from the Maranao people who inhabit the shores of Lake Lanao. ... Originally only women, particularly royalty, danced the Singkil, which serves as either a conscious or unconscious advertisement to potential suitors. The dance takes its name from the heavy rings worn on the ankles of the Muslim princess.

singkil is not a Maguindanaon Dance it is for Maranao Nation. a dance of 1st Princess in Lanao POTRI LAWANEN in the kingdom of Bumbaran.

I'm not an expert but I know there's something wrong with this dance. Like a lot! First off, the Datu (Prince) doing ballet moves? That's just offensive to watch and did he actually touch the Dayang (Princess)? As far as I know, he is not in any way to touch her during the entirety of the dance. Now, I'm not so sure about the Dayang's outfit. Green? I've read somewhere that it's supposed to be white and gold. Also, I didn't notice her iconic stumping to signal the people beating the bamboos to up the tempo. I understand that this may be a free interpretation but please show a little respect to the heritage of the Maranao people. Lastly, this is for the admin of this channel, Maranao ang Maguindanao are two different tribes. A quick Google search does not hurt. Suko kay ko!

Looks beautiful and confusing too as a bangsamoro this traditional is a totally ruwaybidah an innovation vizayan copied it but not placed it properly in thier own bangasamoro tribe originally they just copy paste but wrongly potrayed in the eyes of non bangsamoro they say its beautiful but the essence of originality is lost

Too stylized, mystery is gone

No one was suppose to touch the princess and please singkil is a dance on its own. Dont incorporate ballet in it. It's insulting.

I am from the Philippines and I am 43 years old. Honestly, this may be well choreographed to some of you but this is not authentic Singkil Dance. I know Singkil coz I've seen it several times since when I was a young boy. Performed by the real Muslim dancer. Starting with the costume the ingress and egress, the real dance choreography. there's is a storytelling when it's performed. The Prince doesn't do ballet. The costumes are all wrong. This is supposedly a sacred dance and you have to keep it authentic and sacred as much as possible especially when it's performed to the public. Please try to Google what it Singkil is and you will know.

Huwag baguhin ang originality ng singkil dance at huwag haluan ng ballet,iba Mali di dapat sumasayaw sa kawayan ang mga babae akala ng prinsesa,tanging Princesa lang aapak sa kawayan at ang prinsipe,bakit wala ang alalay ng prinsesa May hawak ng gintong payong ng sarimanok...nag mukha kayo circus sa performance ninyo.. huwag baguhin at palitan ang aming authentic na Maranao Singkil dance.
