Lexus key won't lock fix
About 3 months ago, my Lexus key stopped locking the car. It would unlock just fine. I changed the battery, and still would not unlock. I read s post on a Lexus forum on a way to possibly remedy this so I did just that. It worked for about another month, and then started to fail intermittently. So I fixed it again, but this time recorded it to hopefully help someone else who may be experiencing the same issue.
The problem is that the little clicker button on the inside gets loose, and either rotates or separates from the connections inside the housing. My first fix was easy. When I opened the housing, I noticed the clicker button a little rotated. I rotated it back to square it up and boom, it worked again. The second time however was a little more challenging as the clicker button had lost all the connections and was disconnected all together. My only option was to hold it in place while carefully putting a small dab of hot glue too a small section on the button. Thankfully it worked. I just hope it'll last a while longer.

Thank you for the video. Exactly my problem. I thought it was a sealed unit. Fixed it in just a few minutes. If it happens again I will figure out something tiny to hold it in place. Thank again
Only my panic button works(RX300), and I was about to take it apart and do this, because I had a similar issue with my 2011 Camry key But I wanted to make sure there wasn't a different issue, so thanks for handling some of my troubleshooting

My drivers still does not lock, everything is in order your instructions were very great but the driver's door does not lock with the key fob maybe the battery is low could that be the problem

What glue is that and where I can get that glue and where did u apply that glue

It was hot glue that I got at Home depot, but you can buy it anywhere really. I added just a small amount at the base of the button. Hope you can get it working!
