Thanks for the valuable info you provide in your videos. I Only have a Valet key for my Prado 2007 & wanted to create a master key with remote. I can get key cut after obtaining lock code from door handle BUT I believe techstream or other methods all need an existing master key to Program another master key or more keys. Any idea how to tackle this ? Thanks

I didn’t know that it was different.

When you start the erasing process, it tells on the info window that all key will be deleted expect the one you are using hence there is already 1 key programed when you start programing the new keys.

Are you not able to program another key fob unless you have a master key? I only have valet key and am having trouble with getting the car in programming mode to program the fob.

There is a way to program valet key. I have a video on on how to clear the immobilizer on the ECU. It’s very technical and requires some skill and tools to do.

So my buddy has an 02 is300 that sat for a few years and now it wont start and run without starter fluid( as in it dies once the sf is removed). anyway after going through the fuel system I'm thinking the system just doesn't recognize his key anymore. Would would the pedal dance system work with that single key that it my not recognize?

They security light should turn off and not blink if key is recognized.

Whats the range on the key’s transmitter? I heard some aftermarket have a short range of 3-5 feet

It’s normal like OEM.

Do these break as easily as the stock the factory keys or are they more durable?

These flip keys should last. The design doesn’t put the turning force in the plastic like the OEM keys.

Question : If I only have access to the valet key since I bought my Lexus. Would tech stream allow me to clear all current master keys and allow me to program a new precut master key?

No. Only way is to wipe and reprogram for new master. I have technical video on that.

ordered a cut key and key fob from 1010keys. Manually programmed both, but the range for the key fob is poor. Have to be standing right next to the door to get it to unlock/ lock. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Nothing unless you got a spare. It needs to be towed to dealer and they will charge arm/leg and first born to make new keys and flash the ECU.

Will this work for a 2003-2004? I don't have original key. Boyfriend left the key in ignition and someone stole it. The car isn't running as of right now. Probably why it wasn't stolen. But they took the key.

Nope. Gotta reset the immobilizer in ECU chip using an eeprom writer buy have a video on that. Very technical.

Does this work on 2001 is300? People tell me it's different but I honestly don't know.

I have a 2002 manual is 300 and had to get a new ecu for it but the key I got the car with im not sure it’s a master. With tech stream can i program the key that it has to the new ecu with out a master key ?

Yea but they will all be valet keys, doesn’t really matter for starting though. I also have a very technical video on recoding your ECU to old keys/ECU or making it virgin.

So im trying to attempt this right after virginizing my ecu and setting up two master keys and one valet. The security light is still blinking (wanting that third master key i guess). Being impatient i still tried to program the remotes but no luck. Is it because the ecu is still in the programming mode for accepting the chips in the key? Should i wait until the ecu gives up?

The remote programming also might be wrong frequency depending on if you have a sedan or SX and the year.

Hey Lexus fam. I'm trying to get the manual remote sync to work. I successfully get into programming mode and the locks cycles once. Nothing happens when I push the lock and unlock at the same time, then the unlock key. Almost like the car doesn't see the signal from the remote. Any suggestions? (I did try removing the remote memory already)

Is this new or old remote? The IS300 has two or possibly 3 iterations of the remote depending on model year and if sedan or sportcross.

Whenever I enter the transponder code registration it stops and heads straight to just saying that the computer couldn't connect to the ECU. Is there anything I can do to fix that?

IDK, some newer versions of TS are screwy and doesn’t let you change some of the utilities. Do you have issues with anything else in the program or changing other settings?

@@TunerwithKids Yeah even with trying to change the other utilities it just says the ECU isn't able to communicate with the computer. May I ask what version you are using? I'm trying to get rid of my P2102 Code, had a friend check out the wiring and throttle body so our conclusion is the ECM. I bought one off Ebay for 80 and just need it reprogrammed cause of the immobilizer.
