    Dude is becoming a legit star in NXT. He has an incredible aura, he looks like a badass, he really leaned into the Kurt Cobain look and he feels so comfortable in his promos. I have zero idea how TK could let this man slip away.

    Because TK didnt see the look he had ig… this was also when tk had so many other things so like literally he didn’t prioritize him which does suck. Maybe one day, he can go back there too and do incredible things or stay in wwe and do awesome things there

    Pillman was one of the people I was most excited to see get a shot on National Television, from his interviews and what limited work I had seen of his here on KZread. I was really disappointed with how little he was featured, we all know that AEW signed way too many wrestlers and didn’t use the ROH purchase as they should have to highlight more of them on alternate brands. Fast forward to now and he’s doing great in NXT, and I’m so glad to see it, one of the best things about AEW existing is how much it has benefitted the wrestlers who now can go elsewhere when they aren’t being featured and still be on National Television. TNA has also been rejuvenated and rebuilding since AEW came onto the scene, which was certainly helped by the cross promotion that they did with AEW. Regardless of how anyone feels about AEW or Tony Khan, his money and promotion has certainly been to the benefit of the business and the wrestlers themselves.

    I think NXT is perfect for him. AEW just isn’t set up to develop multiple young wrestlers while getting exposure at the moment. ROH would be the ideal place for that but there isn’t a tv deal so it feels like talent gets relegated to where it’s harder to get over. And I’m saying that as an “AEW guy.” I hope the best for him and I know the future is bright

  • @Thor-Orion

    @Thor-Orion

    They should have done something totally different with ROH than what they did when they started. I would’ve brought in Bret Hart and Lance Storm and had them and Dustin Rhodes make ROH a developmental feeder league. Have them learn how to properly wrestle and tell a story in the ring, I would maybe have Dutch Mantell involved if possible. Cornette would be a great hire too, just keep him away from the elite, I don’t care if he and Tony don’t personally get along, it’s what’s best for business; having guys with loads of experience pass that experience on to the next generation. Jeff Jarrett is already there and he is really good at keeping Cornette away from people he hates like Vince Russo. Bret Hart not being involved at any level of the business is everything that is wrong with the business today, Bret is the in ring goat and should be passing his experience and in-ring knowledge down to young guys.

    Some people work better in other places. Whether it Swerve, Toni Storm, Joe or sting, etc in Aew or Lexis King, Cody, Jade in WWE. Things happen like that for various reasons: untimely injuries, character development, bad booking, not enough usage, etc. That’s why it’s great to have them both what one company can’t do for you the other can.

Either because they didn´t have the necessary system in place or because they didn´t see him as worth the effort. Both those options are wrong in a mainstream company. Pillman/King has way more to offer than what we saw in AEW.

    Time will tell, and people talking him up based on a brief NXT run are jumping the gun considerably in my opinion. @@darrenrrawlings There is certainly a factor of signing people just to not let anyone else have them. At best WWE utilizes its machinery to create stars (rare these days). At worst WWE actively shuts down stars in the making who become popular on their own. So it´s not black and white. And while I was never a huge HHH fan back in the day, the work he is doing running things is a huge step up from Vince's efforts over the last decade or two.

    Well, AEW is not a good company. WWE is a great company and so is TNA wrestling between WWE and TNA wrestling getting talent wrestlers and AEW is getting all these wrestlers that used to work with WWE or Hall of Famer to me. That is a failure to AEW and I see AEW as WCW in the near future closing their doors so go WWE and also go TNA wrestling two of the best companies out there

    He wouldn't have been used. They don't use half the people that they have now.
