I think a big problem with her character was that she didn't really have an overall purpose in the show after the first few seasons and she made Clark, the main character miserable. The latter isn't really her fault, but the way the story is written doesn't do her many favors.

parkerboy795 kinda disagree especially in a lot of ways she showed Lex had the ability to be truly truly objectively evil and manipulative and he went over the edge with her in seasons 5-7

By this point she understood why Clark lied and would find out even more about him being an Alien. His lies were actually for his and her protection. She understood that and no longer held it against him. Lana's issues are in my opinion Clark's fault to a degree. Holding out for so long put hey in situations far more dangerous than telling her would have. It's a lesson he learns and doesn't repeat with Lois. Poor Lana was the test subject for his real love lol

This scene is so intense!

you can see the fear in her eyes when he closes the doors. she went through the most amount of abuse compared to all the other characters. Clark's codependency issues, Lex being an abusive, manipulative, narcissist. Lionel being creepy and manipulative. I'm so glad she got powers and went on to become her own superhero, Valkyrie. 🌸

Did anybody ever find it odd that Lex chose to hang out with teenagers? Think back to season 1, okay? Okay: Clark, Lana, Chloe and Pete were all 15. Lex was 21! He’s 6 years older than them!! And Michael Rosenbaum is six years older than Tom Welling in real life! Yeah it makes sense for Clark to be his friend because Clark saved his life, but why then was Lex part of Clark’s circle of friends? Why spend time with Lana, Chloe and Pete?

I still remember thinking when watching the show when it aired how random and out of the blue the Lana - Lex relationship was, it felt forced and unnatural, true Michael Rosenbaum was the best in every scene he was in, but it felt like it was created just for more Lex time, could have got that another way.

I still think the writers got sloppy on Lex/Lana. Even with Clark threatened Lana would never have a relationship Lex, let alone marry.

I never really got the hate for Lana, the only really shady thing I remember her doing is snooping in Clark’s room when she was being chased by that stalker.

Lana still managed to get away from Lex Luthor with barely her life.

Even Clark would never hurt Lana like lex would even though both guys have there lies in the end

It's the fact that Clark and Chole warned her about Lex , but she claimed she knew what she was doing and ignored them. And now wants to be shocked when Lex betrayed her? Honestly it piss us off that she can always turn a blind eye to any other boyfriend when Clark warns her , but was always quick to believe the worst in Clark when anyone says something bad about him.

@@lstarsabb Also everytime Clark warns her its just a hunch, that later its revealed when Lana confronts whoever boyfriend it is that is actually evil but its never cause Clark does lol. That in itself is useless of him. On top of that whats the point in him out of all people warning her when hes always hiding stuff from her but wants to be in control of her even when they break up?. Whats even worse is he cant even use the defense that hes trying to protect her by not telling her cause he reveals stuff to everyone else lol . It was sloppy writing and a bad characterization of Clark Kent. But because hes the main character and people have convinced themselves they need to root and be invested in him eventually becoming Superman (How'd that work out? lol) the blame the woman (One whos not mythos endgame)

Lana just realizes that the man she married with, has been grooming her for years, all of his words that were translated in loving her were actually his way of manipulating her and guilt-shaming her and gaslighting her and even earning her in deceiving way+he's a corrupted businessman that's sick as well who has created clones of her (and so many other people's) but wait, everything doesn't end in that! he also has put on a fake pregnancy and fake miscarriage upon her so he can trap her in the marriage! At this moment, she really has to decide whether she can despise him forever or just outrage and try to murder him, and let's see what's his answer to all of this: Lex: "You Can't Deny What We Have Between Us!" me: "🤣🤣🤣🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮😡😡😡"

Where's the scene where Lana told Clark that she's leaving Lex?

It’s crazy to me so many people hated Lana and loved Lex. It describes a lot of misogynism in society and especially in women who hate women. Yet will ignore toxic male and admire toxic man. Some “fans” actually hate Clark and love Lex psychopath Luthor - bc he wouldn’t tell him his personal secret. I guess y’all creeps feel you owe quasi friends your darkest secrets? Friends who manipulate you for own gain? Clark/Lex is the grossest part with ppl shipping them. Lex was obsessed with Clark from the start of the show and trying to find his human experiment to get power and control. Clark was underage and this older guy “befriends” him and tries to buy him off - so fucking creepy yet ignored by these so called fans. I found it hilarious Lex trying to justify his actions in Nemesis like we didn’t see what he was always up to from Season 1. Poor boo hoo Lex he can’t get a girl who he knew never loved him and who he had to hire someone else to hurt and break them up. He’s a joke. Lana isn’t saying anything new- she always loved only Clark and she knows Lex lies about everything to conceal his manipulations/attempt to gain power while Clark is protecting himself from said creep who experiments on bodies and has no humanity.

Lex played a part in their break up in season 5, which surprisingly no one ever pieced together, and then almost immediately swooped in to "comfort" her. I'd hardly call that love.

A lot of things people say about Lana are just out of proportion or out of spite. Lana gets told by a ton of people not to trust Clark because he's hiding something, yet stays with him for years. And a lot of the up and down was Clark himself. Most of the time when she mentions the secret, it's either because something terrible happened or it's just a joke. "A Kent secretive who would've guessed.". And then they both laugh, cause it's a joke. Anyway Lana wanting to sleep with Clark wasn't being needy. It was reasonable, beause they wee together. Then he rises from the dead and Lex tells her Clark's not normal. And she asks Clark about his health, before he says they're distant because of her studying astronomy. Then people ignore Clark being needy. For instance, he goes blind or his father is distant and all he wants is to be with Lana again when she helps him out as a friend. Adam and Lana never dated, so I don't get the victim blaming in that relationship. Adam just pretends to be an orphan that has no where to go and Lana says they're just friends and gives him a place to stay. Before finding out he's stalking Clark. Lana thinks meteor freaks are dangerous and people call her bigoted despite meteor freaks being the main villains in the show for years. Lana wants to use Let's money to end immigrant slavery and people say she's obsessed with power and that's why she got with Lex. It's ridiculous and obsessively hateful. They just get adrenaline from painting Lana to be this raving seductress. People just want someone to hate and blame for whenever Clark decides he doesn't want to be a hero or Lex decides he wants to be evil.

Absolutely all comments here about hating Lexlana relationship. Come on, people. I liked it a lot. I guess ClarkLana was a bit boring for me 😁 I mean it's a great chemistry between two brilliant actors. And now 20 years later i see how three of them interact. It's so cool they're still friends. God, now I remember how i watched it as a teenager. 😉 such a positive memories.

What bugs me here is lex can't take responsibility for his mistakes. Lana wanted to end the relationship because of what he did but lex wanted to blame Clark. Like dude take responsibility and realize you messed up. Then when he find lana in China he says he'll let her go and let her live her life but he doesn't cause the next time she has to absorb kyrptonite which prevents her from being with Clark. So lex has the mentality of if I can't have then neither will clark.

I feel like i'm going to hate season 6. No Clana, no Clois, Lana pretending to love Lex and marrying him because Lionel told her to do it because if she don't, he'll kill Clark. I won't watch this season or the rest of the show.

I hated that they broke up. Lex faking her pregnancy made no sense to me. I saw how shocked his was when she revealed that she was pregnant. Also it makes no sense why he would have done this.

@@misstee101 I think it's a good possibility they grew up in the same area and both look so much a like I think Jp had lots of siblings too if I'm remembering right if he's not his brother maybe a cousin or something sad him and Ashley split. But atleast they have they're babies the kids are so cute

@@elijahbranagan5995 Did you even watch the show???? She was about to leave Lex the day of their wedding because she found out about Clark’s powers and his true feelings for her. But Lionel forced her to marry him and threatened to kill Clark if she didn’t because he knows his weakness. She only married Lex because she wanted to keep Clark safe and she didn’t know Lex was lying to her until months after their marriage.

Thanks goodness that lana always and forever love clark/superman, lex never care for her becusce clark care for lana but she always and forever be his girlfriend in high school and on the farm but now he with lois lane but I wish lana never got powers to week clark bescuse they should been together for ever but in the dc comics it will always be clark and lois forever and always.

Lori is in the Comics and well mentioned sometimes lori isnt deeply in love well she loved clark his well being saved him like he did as in save him but she always sayed he and she cant be end up together i had a feelings she can see future or for some reason she well he loved her sure maybe to much she well married one of her species of sea she did almost marry clark but well she almost died clark saved her and she instead fallen for the atlantian like her who treated him and married him instead than hooked clark up with luis lane and was at their Wedding nicely thinking he would be happy how to break it to him she didnt feeled that deeply superman and wonderwoman had good love aswell multiverse Comics batman married to my fav child of his is helena wayne through

I still really think they could have left out him slapping her. To me, it felt out of character. He's already done things so much worse to her, it felt like it was just there for shock value. Love this scene though incredible acting
