    Not 100% on this but I think the idea behind throwing a leg down is to generate more spin. If you fix the rest of your body in a position but just stamp one leg it can pull your arm down in an instant and generate more spin. 🤷‍♂️. Almost all pro players I’ve seen serve like that.

    @@jonwoodcock3198 and there was me thinking maybe it was to hide the sound of the rubber hitting the ball to try to fool the opponent? Never seen the top pros do it, but still each to his own.

    @@conroyknapp4903 have you ever seen Fan Zhendong or Wang Chuqin play? They both do it, they are pretty good…. Which pros are you watching?

    @@conroyknapp4903 Most top pros stomp their foot when serving, like Ma Long for example. I think it is done to a) mask the sound of the racket contacting the ball, as underspin sounds different from topspin or no spin b) generate more spin as @jonwoodcock3198 said c) look cool
