Masi just destroyed the integrity of F1 as a sport. He manipulated the race by breaking the rules twice and handed the title to Max. Shambolic farce at the end of the 2021 season! Glad he was fired- but Hamilton is the rightful 8 time world champion right now. Max is an illegitimate winner. He still did it. A 7 time champ couln't hold him back? And not to mention he was shunted out of two races in a row by Merc drivers when he would have easily won both. SO yea. Bear in mind because he didn't pit he still gained 3 places on other drivers overall. So no Toyota couldn't pit him and they definitely did not hand Hamilton the trophy

@@ivervj2923 I once read that it was not the accident but the time with Alonso in the team that broke him. He actually drove pretty well in 2010 an could have won Hockenheim. But I think that Hungary 2009 had a pretty decent (edit: not "decent" but "hard" or "harsh"; wrong word) effect on his performance. It was a pity to see him struggling.

The sad thing about it all is that this was undoubtedly Massa's best race he ever had. Absolutely flawless but he lost out in the cruelest way.

He REALLY should have been the champion. FIA knew about crashgate during the season but decided to keep quiet about it on purpose instead of excluding the Singapore results from the championship.

​@@iuriiivanov7410 Nonsense If Hamilton were to pit for fresh softs, max would have stayed out ahead under the safety car and if procedures were followed correctly, max wins the race. The only way Hamilton could have stopped was if the gap was big enough, and Perez underfueling his car stopped that earlier in the race by holding him up.

@@GurtMan100 I know, but that's the human error of mercedes. They were sure that the race would end under safety car. But it was only their assumption, which turned out to be a wrong one. Red bull decided to take a risk and pit Max thinking that they would have racing laps left, and they were right. There is no procedure that says that race should have ended under SC

This is one of my first ever memories, was 5 years old. My dad was happy that Hamilton won and i’ve just sorta been a fan ever since

To think about all those amazing laps with "old" hard tyres and hamilton being able to hold on and giving us amazing laps and then all going to waste makes you think about the rule of SC and how it ruins the time gap the leader sets especially when it's more than 11 seconds! .
