Skill? He was literally only overtaking on thee main straight where the Mercedes just destroys the rest of the field in straight line speed and he had DRS all those times?... I don't hate the guy, the opposite actually, his car control is brilliant, possibly the best but he isn't the best at overtaking unless it's on a straight and he is riding his rocket ship (F1 AMG)

It's his choice how he wants to overtake. Sending it in a corner and having a DNF would not be so smart would it? It would definitely look cool, but why risk it when it's so much easier overtaking in the straight.

Got to drive with it on saturday and sunday and only overtook on the straights while being 15-20 km/h faster. @@onlineghost9813 Imo they were running the engine very hard sacrificing some reliability. As far along the Honda has come I still think Mercedes has the better overall engine. Its possible this year they were forced to run a bit more conservatively due to some change they made which was causing them reliability issues as seen by the many engine changes. Can't wait to see what this year brings :)

@@forced-induction yes, that last few races we saw the merc engine being superior my a big marging, left me think Honda certainly improved but they are still far from matching the Merc engine. Hopefully this last few development weeks they get to improve even more but i see Merc fixing their reliability issues as well, they will still be the dominant engine. That gives max additional stars on his carrer, being able to achieve this on a inferior engine.

Everyone forgeting how Hamilton in his rookie season beated his teamate, 2x champion in his prime F.Alonso, in same car…yeah car drive themselves….also if you see only car here, then you can’t say Senna is top 5 drivers ever becuase he drove most dominant car in that era and never won any championships outside McLaren.

And for you casuals who dont know and talk non sense, RB has much smaller car in lenght with comparassion with Merc…that goes to advantage to RB in corners and Merc is faster on straight becuase of their engine. Merc car is longer becuase their engine fit inside chasis.

This showed his mental strength and focus. Fight of a champion to only be robbed off later

Looking back at this, i feel stronger than ever that this is the greatest performance ever from any driver in history . The pressure he was under, the title slipping away from him, but the ever relentless Lewis Hamilton proved that he is the ultimate under pressure performer delivering his greatest performance yet.

The brazilian crowd was literally pushing him that day What a drive man...

I know Hamiltons car was quicker at the straights, but Mercedes risked an engine failure by changing Hamiltons engine setup. Lewis was on a mission for the last couple of races in 2021, but it didn't pay out because of what happened in Abu Dhabi.

No matter what ever obstacles, barking, chirp chirp, bad weather conditions, unruly race director decisions, It is Lewis who is remarkable as he always overcomes everything and delivers. Such a vital sportsman. Remarkable F1 racer. So so much respect of him. Just think if somebody is in his position, how arrogant that person would turn be. Lewis is not. That is the enigma. Perhaps, the smoothest race car driver I will witness in my life! Lewis Hamilton's ability to manage tyre wear and ease a vehicle at the highest of speeds with minimal stress on its frame is beautiful!! There are many others before and now who are more aggressive, but the smoothness of Sir Hamilton's drives is without parallel! :)

I remember Hamilton putting up a story after this race on his Instragram about a boy standing up on the karate mat with an oxygen tank next to him saying something along the lines of never give up. :) I come back to this video every time I feel low. :) Love you lh. @@jettrude How about redbull? Most of Max's overtakes are not on the straight or in the braking zone, where he has to hit the corner differently, which is not about "having the faster car". And also Perez's defending against Hamilton in Abu Dhabi or Turkey because that's something Lewis or Bottas has never done in this season

Saved this video, when ever I feel low, use this as motivational one and it won’t fail.. as he says - NEVER GIVE UP 💪🏼 uffff what a race it is…..

What I find interesting is how unsettled that car looked during some of those overtakes. At times it seemed like he was literally trying to keep the car on track, whereas the RBs always seem glued to the track.

After everything that was done to put him down that weekend and he still overcame (and overtook) it all to get the win in a crucial swing race. Never underestimate the power of Lewis’s mental fortitude at crunch time. There will NEVER be another like him. Gotta cherish this man.

@@deborg3749 the FIA ruled that they didn’t cheat. They had a broken clasp on the wing that caused the irregularity with the gap. The rule was enforced on them but it wasn’t due to them trying to gain an advantage. He overcame it all, placed well in the sprint, and won the race. Please take your ignorance (and your vulgarity) elsewhere.

I love to take our dog on walks but he kept running away. I prayed for a miracle. Just then Pewis Pamilton appeared & gave me a lead. I asked him why he was doing it. He said” I am finished I can’t hold onto leads anymore, take mine.” Now I don’t lose our dog. Thank you Pewis.

Many racers come and go but the kind of stuff Lewis pull on the track is something you come back to watch just to enjoy the brilliance of the car and Lewis. No one will ever be able to do this again

The best performance I have ever seen during a race weekend. My favorite race of the 2021 season mega drive.

This race and the entire weekend is his masterpiece

After that race I thought it was all over tbh, Mercedes looked like sky rocket and not a formula. Legit it was apsurd how much faster that bolid looked compared to the others. I know they went all out and used a lot of engine that race, but still it looked like different category compared to everyone else.

King Mazepin won’t forget this. He will lap the whole field 69 times next season and win the championship 420 points clear of Lance stroll and will spin at least 5 times a race and still win. Mazepin = Goat. Mazepin is 100x better than Schumacher, Hamilton, Senna and Vettel combined.

his engine was on another level.. overtaking others who have DRS like they're GP2 cars.

wouldn't say 100 years mate, a driver like this comes along every decade or so. Before lewis there was Michael, then Senna, then Lauda, then Clark, then Fangio and now we have Max. Every decade there's an era-defining driver, and Lewis defined the 2010s, not the entire history of motorsport.

@@Swad-cf8nc im not sure you know what defined means. By defined i mean he was the face of the sport for the decade. And while his team was excellent yes, you can't put it all down to the car. Hamilton from 2014-2021 was a different breed of winning machine.

That must have been so demoralising for the rest of the field. After watching this, I find it hard to believe that Merc/Lewis (and Max) won't be at the front this season.

What’s so demoralizing lol? Max fought till the end anyway and the rest of the grid had no business racing mercedes since 2019, 2014 if you rule out ferrari. What about next season, we’ll see but it’s rumored that ferrari is coming back

He was driving a rocket: YES He was fully sending it in every single corner: YES One thing does not diminish the other. Mega car + Mega driver = Mega performance.

Or the phenomenal budget Mercedes have to engine swap a 10 Million $ Engine every other race for 50bhp more? Amongst a host of other performance enhancements. And even then they still cheat and have flexible wings and leave the drs flap open an inch.....

You do realize that does not matter when you have this much overspeed, proof of which being this video. A new ICE costs only 10 places, the gross of which are gaines back in 4 laps including the start.

Has to be one of the greatest drives in f1 history, have to come back every so often to marvel at it. I know he was in one of the fastest cars but great drivers like Perez and Bottas proved that not anyone can do it. Plus he still caught Max who, over the season, was equally as fast as him over many, many occasions. That weekend Hamilton was just in a league of his own. Legend. Edit: spelling errors

Not Hamilton but his engine … If it was about driver s skills,he would have won at least 1 race ever since 2021 season.He got caught Max thanksgiving his overpowered engine,otherwise, in Qatar or Brasil,Max would have been declared as wdc

i still come to watch this MASTERPIECE once in a while.

Instead of putting AI down, you put your engine up and does what Hamilton is doing here, overtake everyone with superior engine and DRS on the straight at almost the same spot every time. Don't get me wrong, he definitely has my respect, but still not very fun to watch when one team is so unreachable. Would love to see equal engine

Best F1 drive I’ve ever seen

The best race Leiws has ever competed, in the fact he went from last in the sprint, to first in the race. If Mercedes can give him a car thats like this one....a rocket, then hopefully Max will have competition for once, in the upcoming 2024 season.
