Lewis was a pure beast back here

I miss the sound of these engines:-( and also McLaren were awesome back then with my fellow Brits Hamilton and Button.

Great video. It goes out to prove that the problem with overtaking in formula 1 is not an engineering problem but a driver problem. I love how most drivers will approach pretty much every circuit saying "it is very difficult to overtake there, almost impossible" and then you get Hamilton overtaking cars as if it was GP2

and i find it funny how people say hamilton is only good when hes in a good car, this just shows that he makes a car that is 2.5 seconds slower than the field and yet he gets past them

More remarkable than his raw talent is his unmatched knowledge of the car which allows him to utilize it so...

i dont often follow f1 as its often bore,but wenever i do its allways noticable that lewis hamilton is the most entertaining and acomplished driver

Great video to show to all these haters that it was a hard track to overtake on, in Melbourne. Vettel also made a fantastic pass on Button in 2011 and Rosberg in 2012. Bottas overtaking many cars in 2014. Fantastic racing and overtakes in 2016, Hamilton on Massa for example. List goes on. I DESPISE the new lay-out. Complete waste. Same with Abu Dhabi, and now Spa (which will not be on calender next year, good!) Total sacrilige!

The real shame of 'Lie-gate' is that it overshadows a fantastic drive in a horrendous car.

Lewis Hamilton has proven this year that he is the best driver in the world. Let's face it, McLaren has simply lost the development battle to Red Bull and Ferrari. In the 5th best car, Lewis is winning the World Championship. How do you explain that if he isn't the best in the world. Mark my words - Lewis Hamilton will eventually eclipse every record in F1, including Schumacher's mark of 7 World Championships. He is unlike anything we have seen before in F1. A total fighter with no fear.

Why are you complaining? If you don't like the music, there is a little magic button on KZread, its called mute. Use it? The editing is down to the person making it? He might not get big on KZread but at least he's uploading content that 35,562 (As of this comment) people have watched. So shut-up moaning about it. Looking back at this it was probably Hamilton's best race of the season, at least his most impressive. The car seemed not strong, but it was good enough to get up to third. It's the political scandal that blackened it, but boy oh boy does that man know how to overtake. Fabulous stuff. And then there's Trulli. Allthough I mentioned in an earlier comment that he's an asshole, he did great. It's an unicum to finish third (allthough helped by McLaren under safety car) starting in the pit lane. Only a couple of drivers have managed this feat, among which Lewis also (in 2014 in Hungary), and Vettel (Abu Dhabi 2012?)

Oh yeah by the way Lewis was already signed up on the mclaren young drivers program when he was 13 years old!!! so he would have got the seat, not to mention lewis impressed in gp2 ( i bet you dont even know what that is ), and in 2007 embarrassed alonso by coming so close to winning the wdc

Between Michael and Lewis it´s all down to what is happening around them, Michael won 7 titles because of a mix of events, a team centered in him, a partner downsized so he doens´t have opposition on the team, great cars for 4 years in a row and unefficient competition, only one contender per year and with cars that brake engines or other parts every two races. Lewis has it much more difficult, 3 pilots fighting for the title, 3 big teams and how many broken engines/parts did we saw? Few, so...

+TheSOpRecorder he was Dq'd for lying, which was a team order. So basically it was Mclarens' fault.

Im a fan of LH and i do believe he is probs the most talented driver to arrive in F1 since shuey did at spa in 91, but saying he is the best ever is pushing it a bit plus its far to early to say, judge him in 10/15 years once he has retired but to say he is the best ever isn't right, think about some of the guys your comparing him to, Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Senna, Schumacher, Prost (under rated IMO), Piquet (Snr not Jnr) :P and Lauda, maybe one day but not yet.

@WWIIStudy101 the only reason why vettel is doing well is all down to the car, hamilton easily has the better racecraft and would wipe the floor with vettel in equal machinery

He will never eclipse schumachers records. Never ! Schumacher is the best and with a better car next season he will strike back. Lewis is good but he sometimes makes some stupid errors like Vettel. Thats why he wont smash those records.

In 2010 both Red Bull cars were faster than Hamilton's McLaren. As much as I hate to admit it, Alonso had a faster car as well. So, being kind, Lewis had - at best - the 4th best car. But according to the stats, Massa ran faster than Lewis most of the time. You guys are preaching to the choir because I love Lewis as much as any of you. But you must be realistic.

If it helps, after 11 years my opinion of Lewis improved, but i still see him as Lucky guy who happend to have 90% of the time a championship winning car during his F1 carrer and he managed only 7 WC out of 14 WC Cars. Just my opinion.

He could overtake with a car like that...Lewis is the best! That car was a piece of shit (2009). But still better than this year's Mclaren.

+Gaben989 McLaren always could make a car that was bad at the start of the season, yet turn it into a race winner. The team definitely went downhill after Lewis Hamilton and other key figures left McLaren.
