My grandmother was my rock, my everything, when she passed away from Alzheimer's in 2013 at the age of 90 it near killed me still have not got over the loss of her 💔 Love & miss you Nan. This is such a beautiful song and video, I play it over and over. I received a liver and kidney from an unknown donor 7 years ago. I wrote to the family but never received a response, I can only imagine the pain they felt. It would have been nice to be able to communicate with them, but I understand. I am so lucky to be alive and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about the donor. It still bothers me that someone had to die in order for me to live. I am so grateful and I take very good care of the organs that were given to me out of love by someone. God bless all of the organ donors of the world.

Can you believe I've just discovered this? Watched the Netflix documentary on him last night and discovered he wrote this for his Grandmother who passed away. Just blubbed my way all through this. Reminds me of my Dad at home all alone when Mum got sick and went into hospital. Bloody heartbreaking. Truly written with devine inspiration. I'm a metal head at heart but this song is special. And btw...people stop expecting him to write another song as good as this one! Nobody expected Led Zeppelin to write another stairway to heaven...it's just not going to happen LOL

God Bless you. Im only 14 and have not experience life as much as you obviously but i just want to say that i cried from this. It must be hard losing the Love of your life, and wanting to see her for at least 1 more second. She's looking down on you and waiting, Trust me. Your wife was a Soldier, i can say that even with just knowing that she had cancer because man that must be hard to deal with for her. I know its hard for me saying this but just try to keep this quote in mind, it helps me with thinking back on my Grandparents. “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” -Theodor Seuss Geisel. When my daughter was 10yo, she was looking at my driver’s license and asked what the organ donor on the back was. I told her and she said, “ So if you die, you’re it could be in someone else” Yes, I answered. She said “I’d want to be around that person all the time.” She’s 38 now, and she has explained how organ donation does save lives. ❤

I always wanted to donate my heart to someone to give them the life I can no longer have. That is an amazing act. ❤

I had a cat that I called my White Kinght. Brut could tell when I was going to have a seizure, and would make me lie down. He would go back and forth from my room to daughter's room all night, so he could sleep with both of us. Brut got cancer. It came on fast, and we didn't know he was sick. The morning he passed, he came to us and we held him together, knowing this was his end. I had never felt such love from any any of our fur friends as I did from Brut. He was my hero, our friend, our family, our love. Every time I hear this song, it makes me cry and miss Brutus. What a beautiful video, raising awareness for organ donation.

Lewis is so underrated 😔.....he has one of the most beautiful songs

I hate this song with a passion. Every time I turn the radio on I hear it. He sounds mentally disabled how he sings, for example, listen to the way he says 'somebody', it is weird. I genuinely do not understand it.

He's listening to the heart beat ..not music.. it kind broke my heart as his wife donate the heart to someone..such a pure heart... cant help myself to cry... gosh... its so sad yet beautiful story..

We lost my dad today, and I am so thankful that he got another 15 years because of a heart donor. I pray for thanks to the family that gave the gift to my dad who got to meet his grandchildren. Plus the words are helping me through today and what will becoming in the near future. It’s a moving song and a powerful video too.

@@hjkhhjkh3635 The lyrics clearly refer to an unrequited love who he gave everything to but was not the same on the other side. The video is totally the opposite though. He is a widower remembering her wife through the video and the lady with the scar got her heart donated from the deceased wife and he is happy to meet her and her family.

Make sure your family/loved ones know whatever your age - they can still veto it when you pass otherwise. Technically they have no legal right to stop the donation (in the UK) but if they can't be convinced to honour the wishes, then often it won't go ahead. I think that's partly why the law is changing here next year, to try and normalise it and reduce the number of people who refuse. (in the UK it's currently a system you have to opt-in to, by registering, from spring 2020 it becomes an opt-out system, so everyone will be considered a potential donor by default, unless they've registered as not willing/religious exemption/whatever, or if the family refuse.) I think it's a better system, considering the incredible difference a donor can make to others who are suffering. I'm listed as a donor, as are all my immediate family. Knowing that our loss might be saving others will hopefully take the edge of the pain.

Peter Capaldi is a brilliant actor and Lewis has a stunning voice. This is a masterpiece
