Fun fact : I invented this opening 20 years ago as a child when i had to play chess for a day in a club But then the guy came to me and said "wtf don't put your rook there, it can be eaten by the enemy bishop" and i stopped doing it, but at the time i thought it was interesting to develop THE ROOOOOK

Good advice from that guy lol But I think a lot of new players intuitively try to get their rook in the game. Kids at my club try it still

The rook is an endgame piece, that's why trading it off in the opening gives you a huge boost early on.

exactly what i was thinking. plus the bishop is pretty important early game. i think its a little more of a fair trade than people are giving it credit for

@captainacabo7968 I can see the wisdom in that. But man for me. My Victories tend to be in end games. So sacrificing a rook. Worries me more. Got to play to your strengths. But I do play the fools opening sometimes just to try and understand it. Never heard it called the banned opening before.

It's a setting called focus mode I think. Helps to not get psyched out by the name or rating of your opponent.

Perfect timing I'm looking at my bird of paradise now and I see that if not for the stupid rook sacrifice where the knight was over the king the white bishop goes there next to complete the one square knight bird no it's not about sacrificing the rook my friend I'm already up on this but you want to go find out yourself is cool just like the cow people that make something that has no ideal but to teach them selfs about something they do not know when some one else does this from the start meaning first timing playing chess ever and can't win until they play like this and end up playing this way all the time for some one told me in 76 n 77 you have to come up with your own and I did
