Levoit Classic 300S Humidifier for Houseplants | Unboxing & Review

Cleaning the humidifier: • Cleaning My Levoit Cla...
Hello there! Today I wanted to share my experience with this new humidifier from Levoit. My favorite features are the top-fill design and being able to monitor and control the humidity level with the app. The Levoit Classic 300S is perfect for those times you want to monitor the humidity level while you are away from home.

    I have that humidifier! I love it! The top fill is amazing! I just wish it had a 2 way directional for the mist. I like the humidifier fish, I'm going to have to get one!

    Yes! Couple of things I also wish it had: 2-way directional mist and a water level indicator in the app. The fish is great 😄

    You can go into settings and in "Smart Scene" and set up a scene for it turning on and at what humidity level it turns on and make another scene and make that for the turning off function and set the humidity level for it to turn of and save all of that and go back to the main screen and make sure it is set to manual. That's the way I do it and I have it set where the humidity stays within 3% instead of the auto setting where it stays within 10%

    I have the same LeVoit model, but without the WiFi. I’ve had it a few months and have liked it, but have only used it manually and have to refill the tank about every other day. Since I live in North LV,, if I figure out how to use the automated system, I should have similar results to yours. Thanks for sharing, Ron!

    Can anyone please tell me if Air Purifiers alter the air pressure in room? Ever since I switched the Levoit 300s I feel like my EARS getting blocked as in an airplane. Any of you having this feeling or it maybe a coincidence that my ears clogged for some reason at the very same moment? Second question is that on the medium speed the device has like a very low whistling like sound. Not on low or high. I hear it only on medium fan speed. Its hard to describe this sound but its like a plane engine but on a low volume. Please help!

    I can't have pets where I live so I have a couple plants. Perhaps I'll get a couple more. I'm looking towards plants you can't kill. I have a Crane humidifier. And I ordered a hyGrometer!! 😂😂 Oo! Plus my fish arrive tomorrow!! New sub!! Update. I returned my Crane. I now have a cheapo 2.5 liter top fill Megawise cool mist humidifier. AND tomorrow I have the 3 liter Aromaroom coming. For my living room and my two,soon to be three plants!

    This one doesn't have a remote, right? I ordered mine from Amazon warehouse, but it came with the books and a remote for the LV600HH.

    Interesting. Someone returned it to Amazon and included the remote for their other machine 😂. You are correct that the 300S doesn’t come with a remote. The app is the remote!

    Jut purchased yesterday and I am taking back next day ( today ). They say it will work without pairing to a phone app but it doesn't because you cannot set the humidity level without the app . So I pair it with the app and set humidity level and put it on auto and the % went straight up to 71 % so I put it on manual and it does not shut off , EVER . I then put it on sleep and had level set at 45% but it would not turn off until it reached 60% . This thing is junk but it is quiet . Not worth $8 let alone $80 plus tax .

  • @chicagoangler

    I have this same model. I love it. But I also hate the auto setting. I want my room to stay at 55%. But with the stupid 5% up or down auto off feature it swings too much. It should kick off when it hits your target and kick back on when it goes under. I don’t get why they do the 5% thing. They should get rid of that it at least let you set that range.

  • @SuchPlants

    @SuchPlants

    2 жыл бұрын

    I agree. If I could, I would set the range to something like 2-3% instead of 5%. I haven’t played around with the “Smart Scene” setting, but it seems like it might do just that. 🤔

    @@SuchPlants thanks so much dude! That smart scene thing was confusing at first but it seems to be the answer to my problem. I’m now auto on at 51% and auto off at 55%. So a 4% swing. I only wish it wasn’t buried in the settings and was on the front display. Thanks!

    Did you not get a filter with yours? It goes over the small port that feeds the bottom.

    Interesting how you pointed that out! I don’t remember seeing it in the package, nor the product description/images when I bought it from Amazon. Seems like Levoit has upgraded the machine. Mine just has the little rubber inlet that lets water pass through to the bottom chamber, as you can see in the video. Does yours have the same rubber inlet thingy? I wonder if I can buy a separate filter to attach. 🤔

    Is a bluetooth connection good enough to access/ use the smart features (I am especially interested in the custom schedule), or does it necessarily be connected to WIFI as well (which my Uni/ Dorm net won't allow)?

  • @SuchPlants

    @SuchPlants

    2 жыл бұрын

    So the way it works is that it uses Bluetooth to pair to your phone, but it uses Wi-Fi to stay connected via the internet. Once it’s connected to the internet, you can control it in the app from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access on your phone. I’m not sure if you can do Bluetooth-only since the pairing process is automatic-the app seems to ultimately want to connect to your Wi-Fi network though.

    Mine was like that when I initially set it up but it seemed to balance out after a couple days. It also reads higher after I wash it. There was one time it didn’t balance out so I removed the reservoir and let the base unit air out for a day which helped.

    I’m looking at buying this humidifier. The current one I have, you need to disassemble it to refill. And you need to pour excess water out without every refill, otherwise it leaks. Does this one have any water buildup that causes leaks? If not. What is the most annoying thing about it?

  • @SuchPlants

    @SuchPlants

    2 жыл бұрын

    I haven’t noticed any leaks with this one. If there was something I could complain about, it would probably be the condensation that collects under the lid, which will sometimes make a mess when opening the lid to refill the reservoir. But that is easily outweighed by how super easy it is to refill it from the top instead of the bottom 😃 I’m usually refilling it when I notice the water level go down to about 25%… which reminds me… what would make this humidifier even better is if there was a water level indicator in the app.

    What water do you use? No white dust? Any preference of cold vs. hot water humidifiers?

  • @SuchPlants

    @SuchPlants

    2 жыл бұрын

    I use reverse osmosis water that is available at refill stations and I refill my 5 gallon jugs. They still produce white dust over time but I don’t notice until after about 3-5 months. I prefer cold mist because hot mist humidifiers tend to make noise when heating up.

    I think it does. I have always used it in the tank, so I wouldn’t know how dirty it gets without the fish. But when I clean it monthly, it’s not super dirty. However, I do notice there is less “white dust” that comes with using non-distilled water.

    Yes of course! But generally you want to clean the machine at least once a week depending on how dirty it gets. Also, distilled water would be a better choice to use and you may get by with cleaning every 2-4 weeks instead. 😄
