This is easily the best video I have found to help explain gamification to others. It is also the only one I have come across to address unserious games for education - and very well explained. I’ll be referencing this in my thesis if that’s ok?

Excellent video! Please keep them coming. It would be super cool to integrate sample videos showing game types as you’re talking about them (as opposed to using slides w/narrative)

Hi! I'm taking a graduate course on research and evaluation in education. I'm interested in the effectiveness of gamification strategies like the ones you talked about. (I love the idea of CLARP though it would be so much work!) It's the first week of the course, and we are differentiating evaluation and research! From your expertise in gamification and learning, how would you describe the difference between evaluating and researching gamification? How do you know if a gamification strategy worked? Would you use a research approach or an evaluation approach? Or are they not mutually exclusive? Are there differences in strategies depending if you are researching or evaluating a gamification technique? Thanks!
