    Will the Level Lock Unlock when I get home just using my Bluetooth vs having to open app?

  • @jayjacinto6906
    @jayjacinto69064 жыл бұрын

    I have this lock. Its a great design and very well built. The hollow bolt comments go out the window as soon as you see it up close. Its very heavy duty. And the walls are thicker then it appears on video. As for lock picking . That security falls on your existing deadbolt. The cheaper the lock. The easier it is to pick. But ! That being said. Here is the biggest con this device has. It runs off Bluetooth so for your homekit to work for all the cool features. You better make sure you have your homepod or homekit receiver close to the device or it will keep saying unavailable or can't help. Its a pain. I fixed this by leaving a old iPhone next to the door. It works like a dream. Again not everyone has a extra iPhone to spare. So thats why I say its a huge problem. My honest opinion no sponsors. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  • @wanaraz

    @wanaraz

    4 жыл бұрын

    No it's not well built. A traditional bolt in a deadbolt is half in the wall and half in the door. About two inches worth. This does out and there is no structure in the door of any consequence after that. That means it's weak. Thieves don't pick locks.

    That isn’t going to take a kick… my door frame is reinforced so you can’t kick the door in. There is no way they used titanium on the bolt and the bolt is hollow to it’s just gonna fold over. A typical kwikset smart key dead bolt can take repeated door kicks by a 6’1 200LB tester. In fact the door will fail before the bolt. If you reinforced the door at the lock it would take a battering ram (probably several strikes) to bring the door down. I’m not saying a qwikset will be usuable after repeated door kicks. I’m saying it won’t break. I’m fairly sure this will. The moment I realized a battery was inside and realized the price was too low for that too be a constructed in a way to be hollow and strong I knew that this is essentially a privacy lock.

    still sucks because you need to install an app for you or for a guest you want to give access to. Best smart locks are zwave ones that have multiple ways to unlock (phone) or keypad) or original key. Also because this lock uses the actual cylinder to house the battery, the strength of the deadbolt is questionable. No matter how much they claim it is to be strong, it simply wont be as strong as a solid deadbolt. You are protecting your home with a thin layer and battery to hold it from being bashed in?

    Hey Siri Open my Level Lock smart lock. Sorry I can't do that. It's only supported in the United States. You are only in Australia and don't count.

    This lock could be week the deadbolt isn’t even solid and holds a battery inside, someone can easily kick in the door and the lock will break

    Like I commented before, a hollow bar is usually stronger, however your door jam will break much faster than a piece of steel will.

    @@zollotech That's another reason that strike plate is inferior to most strike plates. But if security is not a high point I like the product. Not everybody lives in an area that's a problem but they might like the convenience.

    Way too expensive for that lock. Maximum price should be $50.

    I really don’t like sponsored videos. They always come off as give me something for free and I’ll talk others into buying your crap. It’s inherently unethical, your compromised because you wanted it and got it for free.

    I didn’t ask for it. They sent it and i agreed to review it whether i liked it or not. Sponsored or not i will give my honest opinion or I won’t agree to the sponsorship.

    Yes, go look at a hollow steel bar vs one that is solid... Usually Hollow is stronger.

    SAVED VIDEOS All solid because it’s cheaper and easier to make. When trying to bend a steel bar, a hollow bar is stronger. Go check some videos of it. However, when compressing it there may be differences. However, no one has the personal strength to bend steel of that thickness either solid or hollow. The door frame would break way before the deadbolt.
