In the main series games Slaking skips every second turn, which is why it has monstrous stats to compensate. Pokemon Go gave it Yawn to have some sort of a replacement for that mechanic. I'm 100% sure it will never have a fast move like Shadow Claw or Counter. If they ever give it anything else than Yawn, it will be one of the worst fast moves in the game. But realistically the only thing we can hope is a Yawn buff

Give Yawn 4.0 EPT and keep the 0 damage. That would make Slaking useable but not broken. Give it a long fast move duration, too. 10 turns to the first Body Slam isn't that bad.

@@RaedVSThe thing is slaking is nerfed in the main games with truant and it passes down to pogo. Ursaluna still has opportunities to get a better fast move but most likely slaking will never get a better one

Honestly they should really think about giving it some useful fast move. There are anyways far too less mons worth using in master league and very few of them are non legendary , Non Mythical. So if something can touch that CP range they should definitely think about making it useful.

Yeah you'd just want a hard counter to gira origin. The most common option is yveltal, ursa could be interesting, but the ground resist from yveltal is clutch!

Watching those battles Slaking doesn’t feel as OP as I expected, even after considering the bad fast moveset. Yawn buff in season 14 would be lots of fun!

How did you yawn down the mewtwo? I thought yawn does 0 damage. Does the game round off the stat to the nearest ceiling value so that it does 1 damage?

Imagine if Niantic gave Slaking a fast attack like counter, shadow claw, or even sucker punch?! It'd absolutely be KING of the ML meta. Conkeldurr and Machamp stocks would skyrocket because they'd be the main way to even deal with it. 😂

Tackle would be a solid fast move for it.

all you gotta do to make a pokemon look usable is pair it with zacian and dialga

I feel like Yawn and Splash shouldn't be 4 turn moves. I get the terror that would be a 2 turn move with 12 energy gain, but consider the fact that you have 0 fast move damage/pressure, it would mean even if you knocked a pokemon down to a sliver of red health, you would still need to build up to and throw another charge move. I get why that made them useless as Splash is a nothing move in game, and Yawn is more to reflect Slaking's terrible nature because of the traunt ability from the mainline game. But it feels like a miss opportunity to give those mons a unique play style rather than a straight-up poor move.

You could use a 1O cp magikarp with a Zacian/Dialga core and it would still be good lol

Every move, even shielded does a minimum of 1 damage. It's 1 damage per 4 turns, though, which is SO bad

Entire ml meta breaks 🤣

According to a comment i saw i pvpoked it with lock on, a 2 shield lock on shaking has a 100% winrate in both the meta and against the whole master league. Even a more likely move like tackle boosts its won rate to 87% in the master league

I can imaging facing a slaking wondering why it’s so sleepy only to be met with a natural disaster.

My mans slacking should at least have tackle! Lol

Really disappointed by the lack of creative team building from the opponents.

Slaking’s fast move should either be Pound, Cut, low kick, shadow claw, or scratch. For extra charged I’d say it should be no different than Snorlax so Breaking swipe, low sweep, and skull bash.

No, it should not have anything but Yawn. Its mechanic in the main series is not replicable in PoGo; it not having any good fast move option is the only equalizer.

I am aware that it's already had its community day, and as someone who loves comp in the main series, imagining this Mon unencumbered by it's shitty ability would be a dream come true. Also aren't there some Pokemon who have multiple community day moves? I know there are some mons who have multiple charge moves and fast moves as legacy
