Did you need to tune after installation of the intake? Did you get any check engine lights? I tried installing an open pod intake on my Crosstrek and got a check engine light after installing

You can easily change the oil in the Forester, The F-Series Subaru engines are by far the easiest engines to change oil in, I have faith lol

Did you get a CEL for the intake because of the MAF ?

I have a 2019 Forester - love the exhaust install video... What about your aftermarket wheels. Any pointers about using Tire Rack, problems with the TPS sensors, proper offset, etc...

I don't have aftermarket wheels, and have never used tire rack. Mine as well try them out

Just bought a 2014 forester with a six speed stick, been looking into an intake maybe a muffler. Any suggestions?

I purchased an AEM Intake for my Crosstrek Sport 2.5L. The only problem I ran into with the install was I had to get a 3 inch 90 degree elbow. I did noticed in the lower RPM range as you are just taking off there is a little hesitation. I called AEM and the guy told me "maybe you need a tune". I called the company I bought it from and he mentioned it sounded like there was a leak from somewhere, but could not certify it would work with my 2.5L even though the motors are similar to the 2.0L. I am going to go back and double check the fittings to see if it will run smoother. Any thoughts as to what would cause the "hesitation" in the lower RPMs?

Yeah Id say check to make sure all your hose clamps are tight. Still awesome you're modding the Crosstrek though

Ironically looks like the Mass Airflow Sensor was not seated. I did install the new 90 degree elbow. There is still a little bit of "chatter". I think it is because I opened things up a little with he cold air intake.

No, nothing different besides cosmetics. If we were in Japan, there is a turbo version from the factory

It was around $300 if I remember correct. Not sure on warranty as we don't have one.

I think you should just build a little backyard garage, and buy and flip cars, while showing us how you do it. Pretty much what you've always done, but just don't run the repair business with it. Do it on your time, and have fun with it. I've been watching your videos since you had less than 1k subs, and your best videos are always the ones you're having fun it. Your video production and editing has also gotten far better or the years, so I think with some fun projects, you could really explode this channel. Your wife is also great in the videos, and always adds some fun to them.

I am a car wannabe enthusiast. As you can tell I just found you guys today. Can you explain what an air intake is and what it benefits? :) Also these videos are truly entertaining, and whatever you guys do to your Forester I’m all for it. Keep it up, and keep the content coming.

@@briang813 more air means the car can inject more gas and the more gas and air = more power. Not much with just an intake but it definitely will accelerate quicker.

@NoboriAuto from what I am assuming, its just a OEM part from Subaru, it’s a “Sports Grille”, the difference is instead of the one we have on now (Horizonal), the Sports one has a honey comb design. It’s on my list. Part# J1010SJ210, you guys should def do a install video.

Nope it can actually rob your engine of power unless you do a remap and tune, but if it’s noisy it’s got to be making more power. 😜

Hmmm I watched another KZread video where they compared the products you used, engine air filter VS others and it was by far the worst performance filter, unless it is being used in a track. It lets the most amount of air which is true but it filters efficiency is very very low. Also unless you tune your engine you could be toning it of power with the cold air intake. Remember the engineers designed it to work that way and unless you are just looking for more noise you aren’t getting the performance. Also those oil impregnated filters can screw up your mass flow sensor.

Just something if you wanna show it, I've been looking at a radar detector wired into the powered review mirror, apparently you can tap into. Or the same thing with a camera mount for recording. Just an idea 😁

Are you saying you can tap into the eyesight cameras for radar? Out here many police departments use lidar, and I'm the dude that drives in the slow lane. Filled my quota of tickets in my early 20s.

I love and own foresters and as I have modded some I want you to know that you just lost HP lol. You went from stock cold air intake to open air intake. you will now get more noise and hotter air. hotter air means less power.
