he sings better live here than any place I have seen him. Is that Jason Becker playing guitar in the back? If not who is it?

no it's not jason, he was already getting pretty sick, he had to drop out before finishing the album. it's guitarist joe holmes who went out on tour for the record.

Man, wish he had followed thru with his solo career, but he always seems so fixated on the VH stuff, so underrated. 😊

@@STEVEHEROLD It’s a damn shame. He has done some really great stuff, but it’s like he lost faith in himself, which is ironic considering his over the top persona.

@@FrankieLovesElvis yeh i agree. i wonder if he thinks people just wanna hear him sing VH stuff. I mean I do remember right around when covid hit he did some shows in vegas and totally out of nowhere he played "big train" from Your Filthy Little

@@STEVEHEROLD Wow, that’s a great one !!! I had a couple times that I seen him solo and he killed it, played Just Like Paradise, Yankee Rose, Tobacco Road…It was awesome. Even in ‘99, he sang “Slam Dunk” and I was thinking, he doesn’t need Van Halen, people were still going nuts over him, women throwing their bras at him, insanely kool, but I guess he feels like his legacy is with Eddie and the VH brand. Too bad. 😊 At least Hagar still sings and plays his solo stuff.

@@FrankieLovesElvis i’d argue that as early as 1988 Dave wished he was still in VH. I don’t think he really ever wanted to leave that band. I’ve always maintained when Dave was in VH there was no bigger fan of that band than him. The guy lives for the stage but who knows if he’ll ever tour again.
