Kerosine Castle - or its younger sister. We backed on to the GWR line about a mile or so west of Bath Spa and I just remember the 'gas turbine' getting into its stride on the down 'Merchants Venturer around dinner time. I thought it magic even though it smelt like gran's Aladdin paraffin heater. And my grandad - an S&D man at Bath Green Park sheds predicted it would kill trees. Did I care? No, the shiny black gas turbine was cool! Thanks for great show.

Good morning Tony, what a gentle but busy day on the Railway, it was brilliant to see so many trains running, You've certainly got the talent for running trains at just the right speed, (something I'm trying to work on with my boys, they run the trains too fast but it'll come). Always enjoy the shots of trains running both past and through the high level signal box, i can imagine being a signalman in that box and the whole thing shaking and the noise as trains past under, like the views of trains snaking through Tyne Dock when the building are done this is is going to look fantastic. But Tony for me i don't think you can beat the shots the atmosphere the general ambiance of South Shields, the work you put into building that station, you've created a masterpiece. It still makes the little hairs on the back of my neck stand. If the boys come over again this weekend, we've had to have them both Thursday and Friday after school this week, but if we do we'll be sitting down to watch this session together. We've also had the my daughters dog since Thursday morning until Sunday as she's away, so you can imagine what it's been like after school with three children and a dog!!! Anyway fantastic running session good luck with the work next week, i know its lots of work putting together today's video, and it is very much appreciated. I got raised eyebrows and a grin from Anne when you wished her happy birthday i said i didn't know how you knew but i didn't think she believed me. 😂 love to Laura, have a great week, take care both, Eddy Anne and my boys xxx

Dear Tony, lovely footage of the North Eastern trains running about! Love how the realignment of the tracks around the Tyne Dock Station breaks the sight lines, the slight curvatures add to the illusion and perspective. Also, when standing on the Tyne Dock platform facing the brewery, your addition of the signal tower (can’t remember if you said East or West side) has made a significant impact on the vista towards the brewery. For the (my) eyes, the brewery gets pushed further backwards, and the signal tower sort of forms a little bit of a veil for the curved tracks in front of the brewery. As you may have read in my previous comments, the area around the brewery has had my interest before. To further enhance the view over the signal tower it may be worth while to check out future potential of this location with some forced perspective ideas. For example a slightly lower loading dock in OO scale close to the tracks, box and tank cars, a second structure behind it slightly higher and with some 3D elements in TT scale, and finally a flat or lowest possible relief larger structure in N scale behind ‘m all. Great running session! Loved the "bridge train." Must be a new bridge going in somewhere on the TNE. I did notice a train leaving Tyne Dock Station. Sounds like limited services still taking place. I was hoping to see a train arriving or leaving Jarrow Road Station. Bill and Janet from California

Hello Bill and Janet, there always some work going on the T,N,E. maybe a new bridge could be going up. Limited service is going at Tyne Dock especially now we have the entrances done going up to the platforms. Thank you for sharing your layout, Tony.... A couple of observations... Firstly, now that the trackwork is down at Tyne Dock, do you plan to extend the third rail electrification at least that far - besides the emu, the NER electric Bo-Bo that works the coal mine branch has third rail pick-ups so perhaps the third rail should go to there as well... Secondly.... I was surprised to see the prototype 25Kv electric loco (rebuilt from Kerosene Castles sister, 18100) ... Can we expect to see even more electrification in the future? No, I'm not complaining and really enjoy watching your trains run, All the best, Ken

Good morning Ken. the third rail will be added at some point around the Tyne dock area like you rightly said it will allow more interesting loco's to appear in that area. as for other electrically installations who knows. anything is possible. but for now we have two stations to build. one straight after the other. thanks again for your great ideas. cheer's for now Tony.

A most enjoyable running session, Tony. I liked the Carrick’s vans. Their cafes used to have waitress service, all dressed in their black and white uniforms . They had table linen and nice wash rooms too. I think your locos need to fill their sand boxes. Lots of wheel spin going on. Did you have to grease the platform edges at Tyne Dock to get those Schnabel cars to pass through with there girder loads and the breakdown crane that followed? Looking forward to the station build. Hope that your weather is better than ours up here in Northumberland, what with single digit temperatures, hail stones and a hard frost at night and we are almost into May. Wishing you both a great weekend on my birthday, that I didn’t expect to see. Best, Jason.

Hi Tony. There isn't really much that I can add to all the comments that have already been made. I think @davidhinks8284 has summed it up best. I absolutely love watching your videos (as I am certain I have said before on numerous occasions! I also love the soundtracks of the locos and rolling stock that you dub on. Good morning Mav. its Sunday morning and i have just finished watching Match of the Day. well the Newcastle game and i have saved the best comment to last. what can i say my friend. i do these videos because they bring a lot of pleasure to those who don't have layouts and are just interested in what i am doing. and sometimes i get great satisfaction that they inspire people like yourselves to have a got at building a layout, or even learn a bit about model railways. it can also be very rewarding and humbling at the same time. especially when i meet up with people who shake my hand and say well done. and it all started as just a bit of fun for my grandkids. as they live so far away. but yes i am very proud of what i have achieved so far. and its all done to everyone who supports what i do. thanks again for being a friend. enjoy the rest of your day.
