Thanks for posting this. Just bought a 1620 and it pumps fine but I wanted to know just in case. Your video reinforced why cleaning these machines is absolutely essential.

Lol Tom ol buddy iv been working on paint sprayers since 1993
Nice work. Great explanation of the inner workings. I have to completely clear a field marking machine a few times a year and yes its a dirty job. I little helpful hint flush it with a bit of warm water dish soap in it then flow a bunch of clear warm water after it's done being used..it woks like a charm.

Wow! What a crazy amount of disassembly and cleaning to get to all those gooey paint boogers. I'm glad you posted this non gasoline powered repair video. I enjoy learning something new. I didn't realize you were a fan of Jackson Pollack's painting style ;)

My Spray Tech pump wouldn't prime. Watched this video, took aprt my pump (piston), super cleaned, reassembled and Presto. Did not buy a repack kit or new piston. Justr super cleaning. My not even close to this bad but a little paint sticks everything up. Check balls a big deal, you have to hear them rattle. Thanks, Grandpa...I relate to your style.

You Dog-Gone right on that Robert, clean it up good when done with it and store it with mineral spirits in the fluid section.
Maybe it would be easier to paint the rest of your tool box and shop white 😂. Great job Rusty!!!

Dang man, never knew how these things worked. Still need to report the customer to the lawn mower detective for “tool abuse!”

That took some patience brother, I would be telling the customer to clean his own pump, that was nasty

Hey Steve, these things can be finicky but all in all not bad to work on
well that made a difference paint all over instead of oil but a good job rooster one question could you have put the parts through the ultrasonic cleaner
@TheRustyRooster
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes I could have ran the parts through the ultrasonic but I think lacquer thinner worked better to soften the dry paint
Rooster, what size is that prime nut that attaches to the primer hose

Drive the roll pin out of the prime knob then unthread the valve assembly
Any experience with a wagner procoat? Cant get it to prime. Only used it on 1 job yrs ago.

Yes they a pain in the backside. Try and force prime it with garden hose if no luck clean the valves.

Thanks. I cleaned the intake valve last night. Had a bunch of old paint on it. I will try running water through it first then paint if it goes well. Do you recommend armor pump oil after each use? I did notice small amounts of rust on valve as well. I appreciate the help
@TheRustyRooster

Pump armor is fine if you don't have that windshield cleaner or antifreeze . I store sprayers with mineral spirits in pump.
They are worth the money because they are not cheap. I fixed one on time made 750 on it crazy

I have a 2105, is there a painter filter intallled anywhere?

@@TheRustyRooster in regards to the 2105 that I don’t believe has a filter I figured something out. I have a older sprayer I can unscrew the housing where the filter goes in and the threads seem to be close if not the same that are on the 2105 on the intake hose. I’m going to fab something up, maybe use a bushing not sure I think I can make it work ha ha. Love the vintage Graco sprayer though

You got clean like this after every use?
@TheRustyRooster
Жыл бұрын
No, just a good flush after each use. The one I was working on had not been properly maintained.
Hey rooster not sure if you still monitor this but mine started smoking. Kept adding separating oil trying to get it to move freely. Now it won’t turn on at all. Hope I didn’t fry the engine
