I'm not hating btw, I'm glad JP decided to have them manufactured by them because their mids are some of the best for the money. I like the touches JP added to his speakers as well, very sexy looking speaker. For the money, I went with the Sylvesters.

I think what people are missing is that a lot of companies use the same manufacturer. The difference is in specifications. This is no different than two people going to the same restaurant an ordering a hamburger, one burger is traditional with lettuce tomato and onion while the other burger may be flame broiled with bbq sauce, sautéed onions, and bacon. It’s the same meat just prepared different.

Yep few different parts, some the same. I see how someone could think all you did was stick a sticker on a set of Arnold’s and jack it up $50 but now that we can see a side by side it’s a notable difference I myself noticed the baskets was different after looking a little closer when the first came out.

I’ve had both of them. Deaf bonces are a lot louder. But I agree that they are different.

I don't think one is better than the other. I would look at the Thiele/Small parameters, and see which one is a better fit for your enclosure. These are both EXCELLENT midranges, the only difference, will be where you set your crossover points, which will likely be determined more by the tweeter and woofer, since both of these have such an extended frequency range. Either of these would work excellent in a guitar amplifier application. Bottom line: What's the difference in price?

Which one sounds better? The down for sound looks better and it seems to have better parts as far as the motor and basket. The frequency response seems to be better as far as the numbers but will it sound better than the other speaker?

So you took a driver that already went from 100hz to 14khz and thought, hmm, what we need for this massive mid is better high frequency range, not a lower fs and use it with a tweeter, but better highs and a much worse, narrow beaming sound. you "created" a 6 inch tweeter thats already 10dB down at 18k, genius

not the same, but looking like maybe manufactured by DB since the motor assembly is the same basic design and the push terminal DOES have the DB logo on it. so I ask, because I dont know....are they manufactured by DB?

I would say your D4S speaker is made by DB, especially since your speaker has its logo on the terminals and back plate. It might not be an arnold but keep it 100, its made by DB. And who gives a shit anyway, Steve Meades subs are AA and no one cries about that.

Here i am 3 years later watching this again. Yes they are made by Deaf Bonce and use some of the same parts but there not just a deaf bonce speaker with D4S logos on them, there is differences that change the sound of the speakers. I have a pair of these D4S 6.5's and the newer version D4S 6.5 V2's and they scream louder and clearer than any other speakers I've heard, regardless of who made them or how close they look to another speaker, no other speaker is fucking with these D4S's period. You won't be disappointed if you pick up a pair.

The terminal kn the d4s speaker is a deaf bonce terminal though right? Obviously? Is that why people are saying that? Because db terminals? It does look like the exact same motor with a different logo sticker as well. I'm not saying they are the same. I do see from a manufacturing perspective how it could be built with the exact same cone but different dust cap logo and surround. With a different basket and slightly different coil maybe. It's not the same but it is kinda a copy cat design is a better way to word it I'd say.

Can u make a review of those d4s 65 , I really wanna hear them before buying them.

Terminal logo? "DB", looks to be same motor setup didnt watch whole thing, I understand entrepreneurship but there is a difference... I can go create a brand and market it build a company, but If I'm asked about any aspect down to the smallest detail, I can answer because I have ground level experience along with the bussiness mindset. I see lots of people hating cool, I will never hate on anyone who had built something from nothing. No matter if a loan from Jim bob down the road.. 2 options, 1. It sucks and goes bankrupt. 2. They succeed.. Being a business owner myself I started with absolutely zero help and I'll tell ya what, I'd gladly taken a loan to help alleviate the issues.

Even if they look slightly similar, a quick sweep with a DATS would reveal a difference in TS specs. The motors are obviously different.

they really probably aren't much differ, yes the TS specs would be different as every single driver even off the same production line will have different specs.

They are made in the same place all audio manufacturers do it choose their own baskets and other parts off a shelf

That should be 18 kilohertz or 18k hertz and not 18000 kilohertz .respect.i will need to get myself some of those.mids.

Fuck if they don't look like a spitting image of the DS18 Deluxe3c mids I have in my doors. Other than the cone surrounds and lack of phase cone, it looks like my mids. If they sound anything like my mids, y'all in for a treat. A+

Wish these were offered in a higher wattage rating and in a neo magnet for space constraints. I had to opt for the Skar PAX 6.5's which are great, but I feel like they lack a little in loudness. This is in a motorcycle btw
