THIS SONG WAS EPIC it was the first of its kind on the radio being a new electronic disco punk nu wave inspired sound. BUT !! Pete Burns tells in his Documentary that the melody was taking from a BARRY WHITE song that he loved so much. Pete Burns was a huge R&B music lover way before he was even a singer. Pete Burns ( singer ) and Boy George were the gender bending singers of the 80's when Men wore makeup which later transitioned to Rock singers like Motley Cue etc....
Leo, you have to see the Paul Rudd/Jimmy Fallon version of this lol.

The lyrics of the song are about the beginning of a crush on a woman in a strip club, while the music incorporates a sample of the song "You Spin Me Round" by the band DEAD OR ALIVE into the chorus. According to Bruno Mars, the chorus refers to oral coitus.

Dead or Alive were an English pop band that released seven albums from 1984 to 2000. The band formed in 1980 in Liverpool and found success in the mid-1980s, releasing seven singles that made the UK Top 40 and three albums on the UK Top 30. They were the first band under the production team of Stock Aitken Waterman to have a number-one single. At the peak of their success, the lineup consisted of Pete Burns (vocals), Mike Percy (bass), Steve Coy (drums) and Tim Lever (keyboards). "You Spin Me Round" peaked at number one for two weeks in 1985 in the UK, then charted again in 2006 following Burns' appearance on the television reality show Celebrity Big Brother. It also became the first of two singles to top the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. In December 2016, Billboard ranked them as the 96th most successful "dance artist" of all time. As of 2017 Dead or Alive had sold over 30 million albums and 28 million singles worldwide. The band was discontinued following Pete Burns' death in 2016.
