He literally picked up a bunch of stuff at a dollar store right before (groucho nose was one of the items) the other group members thought it was hilarious, and thus the character was born. Shock, honestly didn't expect it to take off, but had to roll with it

"Doowatchalike" by Digital Underground is also a classic. "Humpty Dance" was one of the greatest Hip Hop songs of the time. I still listen to this album. Edit: Shock G was also Humpty Hump. He wore different clothes, the Groucho Marx nose/glasses, and changed his voice to be more nasal to do those parts. He would have a stand in at live shows to keep up the illusion that it Humpty was a separate person from him.

I had to come back to say rest easy Shock G, so devastated. He was a cool dude. 😢

Tupac would perform as a backup dancer later and would perform the hunts dance with DU. He was also their roadie and Shock gave him his start on the song “Same Song”. Humpty was just Shock G’s alter ego. This album was a classic fun record.

Rap was so fun back then. I can't stomach this crap these days.

Need to checkout tom Macdonald He has a lot of sarcasm and comedy in his music. However I know where you're coming from; Even if he was the comic relief from the hard reality of the world of rap it brought white people to the world of rap. This group is probably more important than most folks think. He helped it cross over.
