Lethbridge Thunderstorm July 17 2013

This is a time lapse of the severe thunderstorm that hit Lethbridge, AB on July 17. This was taken on the south end of the city.
We have cable now so I took the sattelite down after the storm.
On a side note, if anyone here is interested in hearing some original music, check out my band Under The White Dime on KZread, also acoustic music from Commander Xander

Supercell? (Noticed a Mesocyclone looking thing hanging low right before the rain, which seemed to be feed by updrafts)

That's the inflow band/ beaver's tail, or a band of warm air is drawn into the updraft. The true mesocyclone is to the left.

Great video! I grew up in Lethbridge, and recall several summer storms like this one (albeit, without a tornado)

I was expecting the storm, I actually just got this camera last week so this is the first time I've had it up. It ended up turning out better then I thought it would.

Really cool video, I love watching storms gather and roll through. I've been in a few scary ones but nothing that produced a tornado. Just the green sky as the storm is rolling in I really liked the way this storm seemed to start spinning in a couple different occasions then the 90 degree shift in cloud direction at the end.

Yea that's a pretty wicked supercell. Around July to late August they get tornadoes because of the migration of the jet stream moving north. I live in Arkansas & we got 24" of snow in February so it's just the nature of climate.

No check that channel comment and the heaviest rain just 2 seconds here per 106 seconds as total and the time lapse duration just 130 minutes so the heaviest rain just 3 minutes but can reach more than 60 inches per hour
