Фильм және анимация

Going on a tour of some “Lethal Weapon 2” locations, all found in Los Angeles.
1) The 2nd street tunnel, location of the opening car chase, in downtown LA.
2) The Bonaventure Hotel entrance and the adjoining intersection at 4th street and Figueroa, also downtown.
3) The Garcia house a.k.a the “Stilt House”, lair of the South African drug dealers (and diplomats), in the Hollywood Hills.

I remember going downtown LA in December of 88’ to watch them film that opening chase. It was fascinating to watch all the cars run the chase for the shot and then like a chorus line all the cars would back up in unison to there original starting point at least a quarter mile back. And the explosion of camper was a bonus to watch. Good times

I find it incredible how many filmmakers have fallen in love with that little tunnel and have decided to film several movies there.

Very well done video. I really enjoy the Michael Kamen score and I think you used it quite well. Also blending the real chase with the locations was fun. Very good. I will look for LW3 & LW4 after this, hope you got 'em.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I have LW and LW3 location videos on this channel. LW3 has 2 parts, part 1 retraces the armored car chase if you're interested!

Most of these locations are of course in GTA 5, also GTA got the stilt house collapse from LW2. Missing the 80's though

Wow!! I was convinced that they really destroyed that house, that means that the FX of the 80s and 90s was much better than the current CGI. Was the replica of the house made on a real scale or was it a much smaller miniature ?

It was real scale, you can read about it on the back of the VHS box from the 80's here: vhscollector.com/movie/lethal-weapon-2

@@Protokino That's why I love the practical FX of the 80s and 90s, because they managed to fool you many times, as in this case that I really believed that they tore down that house or that they had built it especially for the movie and that the house no longer existed. Today if they made these effects in CGI, we would realize because it looks very artificial CGI, it has not evolved to a level of realism yet, it still looks fake.

I saw this movie in the theater and the crowd was really into it. They were laughing at every joke. Siskel and Ebert's review of this film is funny, because Ebert loved it, and dumbass Siskel gave it a thumbs down for the stupidest reason, as he often does. He also gave "Point Break" a thumbs down for reasons that made no sense at all. I loved watching Siskel and Ebert, but Siskel was often terrible. One of Ebert's big screw ups was giving "Die Hard" a thumbs down. And "Ghost." And "Mrs. Doubtfire." Sorry, I'm getting carried away.
