I dont see how a heli can lose that. Just cut the tail rotor's action and spin immediately around and then fire.

The Flankers is my favorite Eastern fighter jet, honestly the most beautiful looking aircraft.

The greatest threat to the bombing mission was having too much fun shooting things down.

He makes anything he flies look like the best fighter in existence. He wipes the floor with Sukhoi's and MiG's when he flies NATO planes and he wipes the floor with F-16's, F-18's and F-15's when he flies Warsaw pact planes. This guy just knows how to dogfight.

You just gotta know the strengths and weaknesses of what you're flying. GS understands how to use the 27 perfectly, tho if the enemy had an awacs it'd be significantly harder.

I know nothing about aircraft, but the Sukhois always look so good to me.

Was wondering if either A: Do a video on the typical eastern block missile load-out and what the design purpose was/is and vice-versa for the western side. Or B: At the beginning of the engagement, do a brief specific showing of the missile load out and what they would be most likely used for. Im just always curious about the armament being carried

This was a very cool mission. Was quite impressed with how well the Flanker could fly when it was so heavily loaded. I bet it felt like a hog.

Surprised the plane didnt stall during that heli fight, the flanker just doesnt like to go upside down!

As a Hughe pilot you prepare for anything / even a 2 circle merge with a flanker!

For me FC3 is still the best first Mod for DCS. SU-27 is still my most flown and the plane I get my most kill's in EOS and IR missiles FTW...

great video and a bit refreshing, the Flanker can be very versatile And Electro opticals are very useful, some of the century aircraft had had these but i don't know why they didn't really kept making jets with them Russians never stopped using them, pretty much all modern European jets have one (Typhoon, rafale, Gripen) It just seems weird to me. Electro opticals can litteraly replace the radar at short/medium range (depending on the weather and the performance of the EO) without warning the bandy It can even tell the range with a laser, but most modern jets have laser warning systems so they can still be warned by their RWR

@@PeterDolan you mean stealth shaped ? The F35 have one under it It’s possible to shape the glass around the EO in a way of making it stealth And the F16/18/15 are not the kind of aircrafts that are stealth, they would actually benefit from it

Imagine if those Huey's were Cobras/Vipers instead. They would have had sidewinders on them for just that type of occasion, would be interesting to see something like that.

If they had actually been modern F-16V and FA-18 super hornets with the AIM-120D (which significantly outranges the newest R-77-1) it would've been a different story. Once AIM-260 comes into the picture Russian fighters will have a hard time winning any engagement at all.

In WW2 a b24 dropped a single bomb and took out the bridge on the yaloo river. It was from altitude. Narrow road way.

Would love to see you pull the F4 back out but as an underdog taking on the SU-27 , Mig--27, (does DCS have the SU-24 ?). Great mission btw, you have become a beast regardless of the platform!

GS It'd be really cool if you could make (or maybe you already did and I just couldnt find it) a video about the behind the scenes if these missions you run. How are these put together, where they're run, who participates in them, along with PoVs of other players as they participate. Isuspect there is a lot of effort put there that the average viewer might be oblivious to.
