    Sat near her in London at a Bette Midler Concert, she was a true beauty and as all her performances showed a highly talented actress. Unfortunately left us far too soon.

    Loved her. Accomplished, but also smart. Think of her in that great 1985 concert performance of 'Follies', holding her own in that galaxy of talent - just to give one example. A tragedy she died so young. RIP.

    @@Kimteach2011 Well, yeah, I'm talking about Western or Hollywood beauty standards, which have historically been rigidly Euro-centric. And it hasn't been until the last half century that we've seen more representation of non-European beauty in popular media. In the past, someone like Lena Horn was exalted as a beautiful black women, because she had more stereotypically "white features". Naturally fuller lips are one thing, but I was talking about the collagen-injected rubber tire kind of look on white actresses and models that looks cartoonish to me.
