Lol oh yeah. It's funny I've watched distant relatives of mine be so thrilled to bag a white American man... Then be shocked to find that they're not all rich and classy. You married a redneck who barely works, hun, and his parents call your kids slurs. Barely worth the paper his passport is printed on. But if you want that piece of paper, it's worth it to suffer for a few years to these people. You'll be bombarded with threats of deportation from your own husband and walk on eggshells the entire time. But when they get that citizenship... Poof, they're gone. And the moron never understands why because 'everything was going so well'.

Obviously not all International relationships are like that, but it's hard not to side until the coast is clear. I literally helped end the marriage of a woman who was married to another woman because she was being abused and having her immigrant status threatened and used against her to stay in the marriage.

Marriages are declining globally Putting this on BW is similar to what has been happening in China over the last decade or 2 with the concept of "leftover women". B/c of the 1 child policy, boys were preferred over girls. Now there's so many more men of marriageable age (and old age, Lol) than women. But a lot of women are either focusing on career, or not wanting the hassle in general. So the campaign with the term "leftover women" was started to shame the women into hurriedly marrying men, when in fact it's the men that are the left overs and "in need" of women

Listen some of them don't sell drugs because first of all they're not smart enough to and not to say all drug dealers are smart but they don't even have the business acumen to get started with selling drugs because it does take a little bit of business one-on-one to even consider the thought of selling drugs which a lot of them don't want to be independent That's why they don't do it it's not because there's such great men or because they have high integrity now is because they know that they would fail at it because none of them are builders. In the saddest part is that most of the action that was taken to build the black community back in the day had to do with the drug dealers. It was them who looked out for the community back in the day at least It was drug dealers who made sure turkeys and Christmas gifts got to kids This was back in the day though not these new drug dealers

I know. The bar is so low for black men in America. They think just because they are not found work in some warehouse or in construction, are not unemployed, or did not end up in jail they are "high value men". Then the few black men that somehow manage to obtain a college degree and get an office job believe they are God's gift to women because they've managed to do the educational bare minimum that other races of men have been doing since forever.

It also reminds me a bit of the "Thai brides" thing. Do you have that in America? In the UK some men who struggle in the UK dating scene would somehow get brides from countries like Thailand (I'm sure Thailand isn't the only one) and the idea is that they are submissive or whatever. I think it's something done through the internet but I think it's been a thing since like the 90s and before the internet was widespread. There was this idea of "mail order brides". Again it's like generally kind of weird guys who are struggling to hold down relationships because of something they might need to work on or understand about themselves, rather than finding a woman who they can get away with treating worse because she's in a strange country and wouldn't find it easy to get away. I don't know my memory on this phenomenon is kind of sketchy though

As I'm reading these articles you suggested I have come to realize why it has been incredibly difficult for me to date black men. On the apps especially I tend to allow more space and do not stick as stringently to my deal breakers with regards to black men and men of color. And still no interest. The few times at black men have actually approached me in public it has been aggressive and angry, often insulting. I remember one time I was working at my second job at target, and a black man was hitting on me, which is typically a non-starter for me. Don't hit on people at work, it's predatory. But I was being polite and respectful to him, I even laughed at his jokes. He kept speaking coded language though, I guess trying to be slick, and was ultimately frustrated with me because I was being polite and professional and not responding in the overtly sexual way I think he wanted me to. He got visibly angry after I finished checking him out and stomped away. When I asked him what was wrong, he just yelled at me. My experience with dating over the past 7 years is that many black men have created a narrative in their mind that paints black women as the betrayer, and their enemy. I just don't have the energy for it. I can't do more work for folks than they will do for themselves. And if people don't want to work on themselves but instead want to externalize all of their trauma and grief, they're never going to be satisfied with anyone.

I used to live in SE Asia...White American men and European men have been "finding traditional and/or meek" wives, girlfriends, or easy sex for decades! I lived in Bangkok for about 3 years, no one blinks an eye when a young Thai woman is with a man 30 years her senior. It benefits her (and her family), as marriage to a foreigner with a "strong" passport, provides a higher quality of life. But the Western man has to have **resources** money, social security, a pension, property, and/or well paying job. If they think Black American women are materialistic and gold diggers, phew going to Asia thinking women will just accept a man "as is" is foolishness. Marriage is a business, many families expect a dowry, want proof of wealth (deeds of property, tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements), and expect a husband to take care of the wife and her family. Sadly, Black American men wouldn't be able to afford a wife (andher family)...or would be accepted as a good match by most Asian families who focus on legacy, wealth, and status. Either way, left over Black American men are catching up to what Western Caucasian men have been doing for a long time....but with few resources.

A lot have no kids or kids are grown. Some have retirement pensions and work remotely from anywhere. A lot are in IT field and usually make 6 figures. It’s common to see 30 year old IT guys making 6 figures like my cousins. My brother who is retired military has a pension for the rest of his life and just turned 39 with 20 years of service. He is a passport bro in Thailand. As much as folks want to label the movement about women it’s more about a lifestyle that may include women. My brother got offered $180K for a IT job in Miami. He turned it down for a complete remote job making $130K and moved to Thailand where cost of living is cheaper. So these passport bros are making moves for economic reasons also. When they speak it’s about showing other men how they live and how they were able to have this lifestyle.

I’m not so mad at a man for wanting praise and kudos for doing “back breaking work.” Traditionally, this is what men did and because he did so (and she didn’t HAVE to), was worthy of the love, care and devotion of a provided for wife. Notice I said provided for and wife, not slave that is hardly given a thought about. Nowadays, msn want to be praised for the most basic and common place duties that they take on. They do this, not even understanding that women work “hard duty” jobs, plus complete the most basic and common duties, daily. This is especially so, if you are a BW, across the diaspora. I find that so many BM can’t handle typical everyday tasks, such as holding a basic conversation or eye contact. Many don’t know how to speak up for themselves or articulate themselves to express a thought, idea, suggestion, etc. Let me also state that being articulate doesn’t mean that your speech must be flawless and perfect English, French, etc. Men nowadays, lack the confidence and desire to even respectfully woo and court a woman. Traditionally, it wasn’t such a bad thing if a man was short on words because he was overwhelmed by a woman’s beauty and grace. He still was able to speak sweetly, gentle and kind to her because that’s the communication and feelings that he wanted to express. These disgusting brute beast, nowadays… everything that comes out of their mouths is harsh, sexual related, and downright destructive and or demonic. Don’t catch a glimpse into the eyes of some of them, because you will be looking directly at a demon. You know something is extremely wrong with a man who says that he desires a woman, but uses his mouth and hands to destroy her. I could go on and on, but I think the point has been made. Brute beast are just a turn off; unless of course, you are the type of woman who desires that type of relationship. If you do, there is something seriously broken within you and therapy should be the option.

But of course as we can see the richest men in the world get divorced multiple times its not enough. I even suspect the Cardi Bs and City Girls of the world would take a man who makes a decent living and makes them feel secure in the relationship over their men. Money affords men the possibility to afford a household and consider marriage. The problem is there are a handful of modern women who are now older and regret not getting married to a man of means. They’re tired of having to always pay and always work for themselves. Look at the recent Taraji interview. The older you get, the more important family becomes. If it gets any worse it will become mainstream for men to leave the US in search of feminine, traditional, submissive women to start a family with. It’s all exchange of goods - I’ll praise you and pay you for your ability to be the wife I desire while I’ll disparage American women for the same thing…my question is, what happens when these women suddenly decide they don’t want to be “the damsel in distress” anymore?! Oooh, Kim…I love your work to death, but I’ve got to call you in, here. This video was filled with coherent and salient points. I was right there with you until the piece about neurodivergence. I think it’s a really erudite observation that ND mascs may be more susceptible to manosphere rhetoric both because of their marginalization and their neurodivergence. That part? Spot on. I have yet to hear anyone talk deeply about that and as an autistic masc, I think that makes a lot of sense. But I started to depart at the demonization of ND traits and the association of neurodivergence with being abnormal, requiring healing and medication, and being worthy of derision. Some neurodivergences can be medicated, but it’s v dangerous to treat ND like a disease or disorder to be fixed. Largely because many ND traits are not subject to change, and are only positioned as negative when neurotypicality is held as the gold standard. Though you or I may fall on the verbal, emotionally, and situationally aware side of the spectrum, our more marginalized ND counterparts surely deserve our respect and compassion. If being neurodivergent or missing social cues is a disqualifier for romance, that’s fine! No one is obligated to date ND people with incompatible traits. that’s a person’s prerogative. I’m sure most ND people don’t want to be in relationships where their disabilities are framed as a negative. Although I understand the context within the video, I’m not saying weirdness or misogynoir should be ignored when it comes from a ND person. But some of these comments come off like unhealed ableism, and doubling down on the ableism in regard to misogynistic nd men, has implications beyond just those men. Yes for sure, ND men can be misogynistic, there are ND assholes, of course, just like any community. But there are also kind ND people with solid politics. When personality traits are conflated with neurodivergence instead of simply tied to that individual…I’d be really careful about how that conversation unfolds, because it can definitely encourage and reinforce stigmas against ND people, even if it’s coming from an ND person. I know you and this community are warm, empathetic, and well informed. I just think this particular topic may necessitate some more research bc the vibe during that segment was def not the move, and I’d hate for that to sour all of the beautiful work you do in any way.

This is definitely a tricky topic. But when it comes to adult relationships, and traits that lead a population to not only have difficulty but to adopt ideas that make them even less suitable and possibly harmful as partners, I think it's fair for the population of potential partners to say "sorry, not our responsibility, we can't do anything about that".

@@morgansubtilis6852 (I’m sorry i had a lot of scattered thoughts i had to collect, and i wanted to be as clear as i could in responding to you, so i figured it just made more sense to repost my revised comment) while I do think there is a specific kind of vulnerability in ND mascs that gets preyed upon by the manosphere, I think it’s dangerous to then navigate as if neurodivergent partners will always or even predominantly be drawn to incel culture or abuse. I think it’s very possible to hold people accountable for their actions and views, without tethering that critique to marginalized identities or disabilities they may hold, right? I see this dynamic a lot in diff axes of oppression. I don’t have any statistics but at least anecdotally in my experiences with ND people, I think that neurodivergent people are by and large more likely to receive abuse, but are positioned as boogeymen in broad society, which is then used to silence nd victims and justify ableism. much in the same way that Kevin samuels types incorrectly characterize black fems as being more socially powerful than they really are and use that characterization as evidence to support their misogynoir, if that makes sense. Or how conservatives act like queer people are taking over and are a danger to cishet people to make their queerphobia seem reasonable, it’s very common. If a person thinks they shouldn’t be dating ND people, I honestly think so too! That requires unpacking a lot of socially ingrained biases and if that work hasn’t been done, it can cause a lot of damage, I’ve seen and lived that first hand. But I think it’s very important to think deeply about the way we conceptualize neurodivergence, even when talking about people we dislike, because of what that says implicitly about ND people as a whole, you know?

I am all for social changes to accommodate different types of people, but that support stops hard and cold when it comes to any guilt tripping about who women "need to be nicer to" / "give a chance to". I’m referring to the way that neurodivergence is being *talked about* both in this video and that you echoed in your comment, the assumptions and negative associations being applied to neurodivergent traits. 1:13:15 that part about them being neurodiverse is definitely something to look at 👀 (for someone else cause like you said it ain’t my ministry either 😂) but RSD is common for neurodiverse people. Taking rejection REALLY hard and hyper fixating on that, stewing in it. It’s an avenue of conversation for sure.

Tbh also the black and white structural thinking of men vs women and very specific gender roles and becoming irrationally angry at people that don’t perfectly align with them.

They're not neurodivergent. They're toddlers in suits. Neurodivergent people (I am one) typically value equity and morality.

@@Heyu7her3 I’m also neurodivergent and I (unfortunately) know a ton of other neurodivergent people who are extremely misogynistic/racist/homophobic. Just slip into your average magic the gathering play space and you can meet a ton. I’ve known several that way and the rest I know are my coworkers in IT. That’s really an extreme generalization to make. Neurodivergence has nothing to do with your personal moral beliefs and does not magically make you a better person. It does tend to cause people to have extremely strong beliefs and ethics, but in no way means they are going to be “good” ones.

PassportBros have joined the party late! Men in the west finding partners in the developing world is not new. White men in Europe, US, Australia & NZ have been doing this for over 20 years, it is called modern day slavery. The book "Modern Day Slave Wives" by Harriet Lisa Chebet tells of horrific experiences of domestic abuse. Domestic partnering with people from other countries is not all bad, men in China (due to less women) are partnering with women from Africa, India, Pakistan etc

@@sharronewilson4761 I said it in my initial response. Its very slavery- like to go to under developed country to look for wives to clean and cook for you. Taking advantage of the fact that people come from poorer countries that you just so you can exploit them is disgusting. And my comments were very specific to passport bro movements. The video we are watching is also directed at this passport bro movements. I don't know why you decided to include the entire gender of black people
