About the accent...Honestly, as someone from a non-english-speaking country....This was never something that bothered me as a kid. I very early realized that they are speaking my language so that I will understand them, but in their universe they are speaking their own language. Kinda like how sometimes animals in cartoons speak our language but no humans in the cartoon understands them.....Sometimes, there were dubbers that had a different dialect than the norm, but mostly it was reserved for comic relief-characters because it would sound too funny. I remember though, in An American Tale, they did have accents, which I think is just because they wanted to emphasise on the fact that they were immigrants.

(not get me wrong Disney movies of the 90s were awesome... i just was more exposed to Fox Animation). Titan AE, An American Tales, the land before time, ANASTASIA. In the early 90s disney was still surviving on the classics of the 50s and 60s and a few later classics (but bombs at the cinema) like Robin Hood, the Rescuer, Bednocks and Broomsticks, who framed Roger Rabbit.. the 70s and 80s were VERY rough for disney animation studios And yes by the mid 90s Bluth's movies were on the way out (a couple of heavy bomb were key) and Disney was IN but there was a time in the early 90s were disney was still "the past" and Bluth was the cool new kid on the block.

Saber, you're close to when Don Bluth gain notoriety. His first movies came out in the 80s, not 70s (he was still with Disney in the 70s). I actually wasn't a huge fan of Land Before Time because this was the movie that scarred my childhood. I remember seeing it on the big screen and the death of Littlefoot's mom, that killed me (I was 6). I had much preferred Oliver and Company that came out earlier that year. I loved this movie when it came out, I actually prefer it to some of the Disney Renaissance movies (that's my hot take). I was in HS when the movie came out. It does have one of my favorite movie soundtracks too and my favorite song is Once Upon a December. Fun fact- at the time this movie was released, it still wasn't a known fact yet if Anastasia was dead yet (it was later confirmed she did die that night). @31:29 The art style here does remind me by Degas who IS a French Painter from the Impressionism movement.

I get what you’re saying, hence why I never got why people were mad when games like Atomic Heart have an option for everybody to be speaking in English since in-universe they’re obviously speaking their native language, it’s purely so that the player is able to understand them without having to learn an entirely new language or constantly having to read subtitles.
Ah yes... my childhood. I loved this movie. The music, the animation, the action and Rasputin... oh man.

Don Bluth, while not without his own flaws, did produce some Animated Films from the 80s and 90s that stood up and challenged the might of Disney long before Dreamworks did. Secret of Nymph, American Tail, Land Before Time as well as Swan Princess and Anastasia are classics in their own right and deserved to still be watched by families to this day even for the scarier moments.

That song absolutely slaps. The music gets more "colorful" and the lyrics don't hit as well as it goes on, but the beginning and ending verses, the sinister really shows through, and the lyrics by themselves are quite poetic.
I'd assume they don't have any non-Native-English accents because the characters would be speaking Russian and maybe Russian-Upper-Class French throughout the entire film. Like the characters are in-universe speaking their native languages without a foregin accent and it's "translated" for the audience. So I guess the real question is; do we want to exist in the alternate reality where the entire cast of Mulan and Aladdin were doing their best Chinese and Arabic accents the entire movie?

I had a crush on Anastasia and I still catch myself humming the remember song I love this movie
37:30 Yeah, I remember seeing this movie and thinking that Rasputin feels like he should be a more actively feared villain, but the things he does are just kind of magic that's seen as weird problems that just happen, and then he finally shows up and is just some weird dude who confronts her. Like, she has no idea who this guy is, while he's obsessed with killing her, and I remember it feeling so weird that the main antagonist who's caused all this trouble is just this creep in Anastasia's eyes who's just coming at her for no reason.
I like Journey to the Past, Rumors in Petersburg, and Once Upon in December were far more memorable in my head and I can't help it's a pretty good Don Bluth Anastasia animated film.

Aspirin is a blood thinner and Alexi couldn't stop bleeding, it's actually pretty simple so it really doesn't make Rasputin all that magical, not to mention he was known to be insane, would attend sex parties people really didn't want him at, and was just a garbage gross man lol.
13:40 I'm just saying, Papa Mouskowitz and Vlad are basically the furry/nonfurry forms of the same character 31:28 Impressionism, especially pointilism (as in, little points of color). As for the artist they're referencing, it might be Georges Seurat?
Kelsey Grammar came back to do Vlad's voice for some of the international dubs.
Another Don Bluth animation that still deserves to be watched these days is a little known game called Dragon's Lair. Those cut scenes were animated by Don Bluth when the arcade game was in development.

Even if this movie has sort of a meh story, it interested me into knowing more about the russian revolution (the only things I knew about it before were this movie and Animal Farm, czar/king -> communism but not how that transition ocurred). If anyone is as lost as I was and is interested in the topic, I recommend the two parter youtube video The Russian Revolution by Oversimplified, I think it makes a good breakdown of the topic. Kudos!
Thanks Saberspark for uploading this full movie and it’s more fun with your animated characters reaction. I hope the license accepts it. I think I saw the original video the one who holds it by Magic DreamClub.
That's the first time I've seen him sit there and just talk about the communist uprising every 5 seconds and then play around with the characters .. how is drunk you?
The sing you’re humming to is journey to the past. Also the songs found wonderful in their native Russian language as well, Paris is not translated to Russian though but for the other songs it fits.
