Nicely done. If anything this whole ordeal has opened up people who shoot to learning more about light patterns and quality soooo I guess that’s an upside 🤷♂️
amazing video with a great analysis. thank you!
It would be great to conduct these tests in a completely dark place, without light bouncing off the walls or the background. Estaría bien ver estas pruebas en un lugar completamente oscuro, que no rebote la luz en paredes ni en el fondo.
I believe this test demonstrates many non-professional's perspectives of hard and soft light, Many clients and amateurs confuse low contrast lighting ratio with soft lighting and they would prefer the black dish photo, but there is nothing wrong with it if that's what they want. There is actually an interesting approach behind the black dish, with a heavy cost in energy, it does create a very dim key light and a relatively brighter ambient fill in studio space, with only one modifier, this normally takes two lights to achieve. For those who don't know how to light, and are into this type of flat matte, "no specular highlight" look, they might be interested in this, but I doubt this is going to help them grow their business. I don't believe the creator worked on the technical side since he is demonstrating with a diffuser and claiming it can work outdoors, I don't see any point using it with a diffuser, just a waste of energy.

Beautifully put! I didnt consider the fact that someone will and can appreciate this so called "flaw" in this product. Thank you for increasing my understanding.
Thank you soooo much for doing this review! I was VERY close to purchasing the black dish because I'm such a fan of Brandons. But I thank you for this review because I definately would be disapointed when my AD 600 turns into a AD 200 and wouldve been pissed! .......Thank you Yankov, I appreciate you sir!

I am so glad that it means something to someone. :D
There are too many problems with this video. 1. Photography is an art and doesn't have standards or limitations. 2. As a Photographer of over 30 years, this is the exact same thing they said about digital when it first came out. 3. It's discouraging, and limiting future photographers from trying & creating new things. 4. Brother Yankov himself stated in this very video, that it achieved the results that it was made for. 5. In photography there is no such thing as a bad product. What might be wrong for you may be right for someone else.
