God, seeing that Weegeepie clip now, i understand why he was under many allegations... it makes that clip not age well. In fact, it aged like warm milk. Also yeah, i kinda understand the whole not anyone else using the Grace model and someone recreate it for weird shit with it you had to deal with (i know this video was made almost a year ago, but still). I'm not really a model making expert, but If i was in your shoes, i would have the same reaction that you had.

It's interesting seeing this topic come up in the Mario 64 machinima community finally, as someone who comes from a former community that had alot of drama in regards to gatekeeping models. Over there people harassed others and begged and begged for private releases. People even MADE WHOLE VIDEOS ABOUT HOW THEY WANTED CERTAIN MODELS... of course. that killed the community, like no joke. Im quite worried for the up rise of discourse over private models, it's giving me flashbacks... And then we have model recreations, i myself will likely recreate people'smalicious

Wow. I can definitely see why you keep your models private after that video was released. And I definitely agree that stolen/recreated models are most likely going to be used for nefarious purposes. I do want to say that I think this arguement is less about the models themselves, and more so the characters they represent.

I agree with ya, but you know what happens on the internet... So yeah, it's better that you keep your OC's in private by yourself (specially if it's a female character), even doing model commissions, you need to state some limits.

Its quite reasonable to gatekeep your model if someone is desperate for it, if someones desperate than its obvious that they are going to do something bad to it. Long story short just be aware of the consequences of your decisions, long term or short especially with this community I've seen a lot.

Reminds me on my side of the community(icky fnf community specifically), people recreated a song from my mod without my consent, when the mod is SUPPOSED to be private. Honestly i agree i cant relate to the model stuff bc im either dumb asf or i cant find any good tutorials but im an artist/animator and like you said seeing what people can do to a character is absolutely disgusting ive had r34 of my character more times than i can imagine or even count it sucks

What weegeepie did is disgusting. I've gatekept a few models I've made myself. (Like my toad recreation, i made it before mgs released his own, but i feel like it isn't as harming and it was different enough since i just made it a ccable eye changable enkal toad) And about the rise situation, that's also pretty shitty. I hope nothing like this will happen in the 64 community, how did we go fron colored marios to futa jokes and recreating people's models and using them to insanity

I know how you feel Super, I also agree when you gatekeeping models, some people use other person's models for stuff for weird fetishes or something, but I honestly think that Weegiepie's "Futanari" joke with your Grace model, did not mean to bother you, and I am sure that Weegiepie did not do it for any ill intentions. I am not speaking on behalf of Weegiepie, i am stating my own opinion...

everyone who recreates female models (WITHOUT PERMISSION) who wont use it for the right reason just to make a quick s*x joke or for not safe for work reason's that makes the creator uncomfortable is not okay. calling recolored versions of models aka s*xy is very fucked up.
