I'm not interested in movies either, but I am interested in this movie, and I hope it will be good and I might watch it. However, I seriously doubt it will be good, especially compared to the lord of the rings trilogy. Even while not comparing it to the trilogy, I don't think it will be good. I think "The hunt for Gollum" is already a really bad title. It was a decent title for a fanmade 40 minute film. It's very obvious that they are just capitalizing on a recognizable franchise and a recognizable character. Which is sad. The fact that the rights of Silmarillion has not been released is not an excuse to make a bad movie, on the contrary.

Yeah, it's an obvious capitalizing on the household name. Most franchises do that and this is why I avoid works that came out after the primary work ended. New Harry Potter show? I'm out. Live action Avatar: The Last Airbender from Netflix? Nah.
