Let's talk about... stocks :) | Anna-Sophie Hartvigsen | TEDxOdenseWomen
Are women truly not interested in making money, investing and the stock market? Is that why women are under-represented in the one area of finance in which they can bridge the financial gender gap right away?
Anna-Sophie Hartvigsen is an author, public speaker, and entrepreneur working to financially empower women. Her interest in finance was sparked when she started investing at the age of 19. However, she quickly realized that investing as a young woman can be a lonely experience. At the age of 22, she therefore founded Female Invest, which has helped more than 10.000 women (to date) getting started in investing. Female Invest is Denmark’s largest investment network for women, and the company is now expanding throughout Scandinavia.
In this talk, Anna explains why it is important to increase female participation and representation in financial markets, how this can be done, and what impact it will have on society. She shares her insights after co-founding Female Invest, as well as the two most important appointments to make, when getting started.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx Anna-Sophie is an author, public speaker, and entrepreneur working to financially empower women.

Love this video. Female investors have the power to gain control over their destiny. When I got to over $1.5 million in dividend stock, my investments started earning a significant annual salary of their own. That's when I realized I was in a different ball game. I wish someone had showed me how to do this years ago. So now I'm on this same mission - to help women realize the potential of investing and show them how to gain financial freedom. We need to connect as a community to help each other, just like the men do ;)
A talk like this changes the way people think of the unknown (money). Thank you for these great words
The best decision I ever made in my life was investing in financial market. Trust me guys, it pays

Great that you give this wake-up speech for women and how we are not "alone" and there are advices from Female Invest. I trust you will make a huge different all over the world.
Amazing video! Thank you for sharing 😊
What a beautiful way to end your speech! Thank you for sharing this information. I'm also blown away that women are not talking about this in their circles. I need to find more likeminded women. Hugs from LA! - A u r o r a

Savings is the first important step. Build an emergency fund. Then take the 2nd and the 3rd steps - Invest in low risk funds/ products for some time. Invest in categories and domains that your understand. Later expand it if you’re comfortable. Otherwise stay in the low risk, longer term funds. Women are better at pretty much everything! Happy Investing!
It makes so much sense for women to start investing young! It will provide you with life long financial independence

Good, hopefully many women sees this. I as a man just found the world of investing in Stocks just 6 months ago and love it and I'm also in to forums and groups about it, but there is almost no women, just men which is a bit sad.

Yeah, I see what you mean. What makes it even worse is that a lot of the communities of young investors are full of sexism. I was in a forum about cryptocurrencies, and the amount of sexist comments and jokes was very off putting. I don't want to join a group where everyone thinks I'm an object.

This is great. Go. Go. Women,. It's should be the school. Educated. .... women & money
You know what's crazy? Investing is kinda seen as a thing old guys do. But then young women become sugar babies because they want to be able to stop working and enjoy the money that these old guys got...it would be cool if sugar babies and exotic dancers died out because these girls were learning how to make money for themselves.

Empowering woman through teaching them how to be financially independent is possibly the best way to empower us at all, to be honest. We wouldn't need sh!t jobs that included men if we had access to the same money they have access to.

Solid investment advise is the same for men and women, the market knows no difference. Start young, live on 20% less than you earn, invest that 20% in a good index fund VOO or SPY are good places to start. Then, DO NOT TRY TO MANAGE your investment, you will destroy your returns. People who advise nonprofessionals to trade or buy individual stocks are offering terrible guidance. Buffett, Munger & Pabrai don't trade, they invest with long timelines and they all advise average investors to buy the index(FYI- if your portfolio is less than 8 figures you are average, at best). Videos like this help explain why women are not better represented in the financial world. All emotion no actionable advise. In the end you feel better but are stuck in the same place.
This made me cry. All the love to you. I have an art game which has a mini game feature that is inspired by stock market. Anybody who wants to talk please comment!!!

Missleading. If you hold the belief, that men and women are equally human, what makes you think, that a woman can't be a scammer like Sam bankmann fried. Or that theranos ceo
