    Awesome advice! I know firsthand about the nonsupport of family/friends...I started a small business before and it really taught me to not ever depend those people for support unfortunately...going into this new adventure I’m already prepared to find support with complete strangers and I’m totally fine with it...thank you again for another great video 🙌👍

    I’m glad you did. The problem is we all compare where we are to others and then we feel low about how slow we are going. The thing to remember is they were where you are once to so watching people do huge sales can be depressing. Hold your head up and see that you might be at the start of the race but in time you can be at the finishing line too

    I'm so happy I found your channel. I've been thinking about starting to make soaps and maybe eventually sell them and this channel has so far given a detailed answer to all my questions. ✨ You are inspiring me sooo much! You know, when you mentioned how your friends and family haven't bought your products, I could related SO much. When I published my first book in 2020 I even lost friends?? That was a confusing time, because I was so happy and yet my friends and most of my family who follow me on social media were quiet and weren't even liking my posts about the book or anything. Some of my friends stopped talking to me altogether and haven't talked to me since, which to this day I don't fully understand; it's like me following my dreams was an equivalent to doing something bad to them? None of them have purchased a single book I have published since then, either. At least there's a couple of friends who have liked my posts now after my newest book released last April. Anyway, it's funny how people will support big, established companies, but will not support a friend or family member who is going for their dreams and creating something beautiful and meaningful to them with their own hands. Part of the lack of support, in my opinion, is jealousy. Let's keep going for our dreams no matter what. 💖

    Firstly congrats on your books. Your amazing to do that and always know you are making a difference to yourself. My dad always said follow your dreams for You and no one else. I think people get so envious that they can’t cope with your success as they wish they had the strength or determination to do it too but they don’t. It takes a lot of will power, passion, drive and want to be successful in business. My biggest supporters are friends I’ve made along the way so reach for those stars and know your AMAZING 😻

    @@NelsonInteriorSoapery it's their loss. All of us want to be happy. That word means something different for everyone. And that's ok. But to not believe in you or to at least encourage you to try, to avoid the "What if" questions. Sometimes people find excuses or see their roadblocks as something that says that they can't do something they love and make enough to live on or more to be comfortable, or even more to be wealthy. And sometimes they may resent you internally, not supporting you outwardly... misery loves company. I would Spend all of my time in my shop too. I wish you all the best 🥰

    Rhonda you are very helpful and being informed about the different insurances was very helpful. Question about bath bombs and dehumidifiers, I have been told that it should be set at 40% I live in Brisbane and should it be on to set the humidity in the room before I start making them and while they set for 24hrs. Or should it run for a few days to make them hard? What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance

  • @NelsonInteriorSoapery

    @NelsonInteriorSoapery

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes set and get it to the right temp before you start. You need to leave it on while they are hardening which should take about 24 hours. Then turn off. Mine are hard in 8 hours so I need it for a short time. Been in QLD is hard due to heat. I know as my dad was living in innisvale. Make sure you are not making them too wet as they can cause issues too

    Hi there. I’m slowly adding it. I often sell out at markets. I was down to 6 candles and over the week had to get busy and make 100 more. Lots of the soap needs to cure. Sometimes when I list things or put it on TikTok I sell out. I sold out of the mermaid soap in 24 hours. I will be listing more each day so hopefully but the end of next week most will be up and going . Thank you for watching all my videos and I hope it’s helpful

    So who do you recommend to go through to insure our soap/candle business? I’m struggling with this one. Also, how long did it take you to grow your business to actually be profitable? I just wonder how you advertised and got your name out there

  • @NelsonInteriorSoapery

    @NelsonInteriorSoapery

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi there there’s a few insurances but I suggest going through a broker as they will find the best deal for your business . To grow my business to the stage of getting regular orders has taken 3 years and honestly it’s only been the last 6-8 months that I’ve got many orders. I think once I got the mindset of this is a business and not a hobby is when u switched to a more professional look. Also getting a strong brand presence is key to success. I’m going to do a more in-depth video on this soon . Honestly to start to make money you need to look at your COGS and realistically pricing for your brand. Don’t try to match other prices in the market

    The title is how to make a soap or candle bussiness. Most times people start with one then they add the other as they compliment each other. You will see most companies do both as candles are a bigger drawing card . You can skip to the bit that works for you to if that helps
