Hahahaha! I clicked on the time link and it was perfect, unexpected.
You know, I _still_ don't understand why so many people don't put 1-Ups in their levels. There's so many fun ways to use them, and it's rewarding to both player and creator, like setting up an easter egg hunt. And then there's the opposite extreme, where they spam hundreds of 1-Ups when you can only collect three, taking all the fun out of getting those first three... Somehow people just can't get it right.

I was considering this as i watched ryu. I was thinking perhaps nintendo could require three one ups in each level, then at least anybody who didn’t deliberately hide them has them in their level

yeah, even putting 3 1-ups in the end is not satisfying, putting 2 secret 1-up and the pole is way better. well, more than 3 1-ups would be good if done in the super worlds... if only nintendo did not made the mistake lives doesn't matter at all on those... sadly the best way to play levels would be create 4 levels and play it offline in level creation, here you could share even 30 1 ups for level like a real offline mario game, i understand doing so on super expert would be super easy if someone put like 200 1-ups, but come on nintendo

Allow me: 1.- Most people building levels are not designers or have studied design on any form. 2.- They have too many tools and that can be overwhelming, it's easy to forget. 3.- A lot of people don't play for high scores or even touch endless mode, so they don't even consider the use of 1-ups when building. 4.- A lot of young people just want to have fun with the game, they don't have a notion of being "nice to the player". Imagine a party hosted by a kid or teenager and not being satisfied because it lacks the elements of a gala.

@@dimwarlock If you think the bare minimum of playing nice and fair, which every toddler learns in daycare, is too much to expect, then you are part of the problem. But hey, let's just pretend that expecting the most basic human qualities from people who decide to engage socially is elitist snobbery. That will be very helpful.

@@dimwarlock imagine going to youtube to pick apart good ideas. Perhaps if the developers would just start the level with three 1-ups on screen, there would be many more levels that include them.
Appreciate the video!
I remember this stream
I was wondering why there was a bit of lag between Ryu voice and Ryu image, didn't realize this was almost two years ago.
Oh how cool! Thanks for posting.

Maybe some context? Beginning of what? When was this live?

The beginning of his current run of endless expert. He was supposed to go to 2000 levels but he finished that, so now he's trying for 3000.
A sparkleing water🤦 I challenge a 6 pack IPA challenge 💪
Doesn't this run end at 992[edit]?
always funny to hear how sassy Ryu's voice used to be.
Except there were plenty of skips on this journey. Maybe not plenty but there were a fair number of them.

His 2nd channel i love but now that he has made a 3rd channel it’s just bogus
Every hole is a chance for glory...
Where is the very next video starting on level 51?
I’m not shaming the guy but cmon it’s some things you should at least tell your viewers and trust me I’ve been here since your long beard and you Playing with Mario Maker 1 so i know how it works
eeeeeeeeeee
1:56:23 It's a bad thing asuming there are many more coins than the required number. That''s why you should never skip coins in case that happens.
I dont get it the beginning of what?
respect your viewers and play the game instead of losing while talking to someone.
Why is this titled "no skips"? You skip any level that puts the run in danger.

It was a noskip run at the time. After 900-ish levels (911, iirc), he had to choose between skipping or ending the run. That's where the no-skip vanished from the video titles.

@@Leeceeplays There is no joke to miss, that meme only became a thing after Ryu dropped the no-skip from this run.
I have no idea how you guys don’t realize that’s he’s just keeping old content and trying to make it into new content. He made his new channel just to do exactly that. Why do you think he’s just promoting his 3rd channel

plus, now that his Twitch VODs are locked behind subbing to his Twitch channel, this makes it so we can see his runs on Twitch without having to buy a subscription, if we don't want to/don't have the means to.
