He’s pretty good….one of the best I have seen. He knows the book, offers easy to understand examples, and is skilled at teaching the curriculum. More importantly, he likes teaching and the text of the profession…and it shows.

This guy is the Rules of The Road GOAT
Going through the online course and seeing you teaching this stuff years ago and then finding this newer review is just epic. Can’t express how much I appreciate you and the time that you have put into your craft and how much love you have for your teaching. I’m learning so much even from the computer, your in person students are so lucky I can’t even imagine. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Much love from Maryland and Hawaii

Please update your videos. The videos on your courses are literally 10 years old and not well edited with poor sound. Please do this ASAP. That being said... I endorse US Captains Training, their Instructors as well as Diamond Marine Services... they have all been very helpful and responsive to any inquiries by email or by phone!! Keep the videos coming!

I have all new videos coming out but I have to get USCG approval to incorporate them into the course so all of the new videos should be there within 12 months.

12:15 Breakdown of the towing vessels was on point (2, 3, 4 towing categories). honestly one of the best ways I've ever seen explained. I always explained them individually, so next time I give training, gonna steal how that's drawn out. Makes it so much easier to understand lol and explain......thanks cap.

Your statement is correct. What is the question again?
When are differentiating the differences between international & inland you should put international on the left & inland on the right just like how it is in the book to not confuse people. Other than that fantastic video

If you have a tug greater than 50m but a tow less than 200m would it show two masthead lights and one abaft of and higher than the forward one?

What happened to Constrained By Draft??
@uscaptainstraining

It goes between RAM and Fishing. It's an international only thing in the Rules book.
I took my Captain OUPV 6 pack in July and passed everything. Turned in my certificate and packet. Just found out my certificate was revoked and I have to take class somewhere else cause my Captain teaching certificate was expired. Just my luck.

This sounds like a USCG Application issue. I don't want to assume but I would guess your course Certificate of Completion was over a year old. I see this often because the application process is very confusing. I highly recommend using a consultant to avoid these bad experiences. Here is a link to Diamond Marine Services, they are phenomenal! diamondmarineservices.com/web/credentialconsulting/cc-detail

@@uscaptainstraining no. My certificate was revoked cause I received it November 2023 and it was just revoked because the USCG said the teacher had an expired teaching certificate. I used diamond marine services like you recommended

You are correct. The lecture is focused on where Inland and International are the same. I do have a video in the playlist that is dedicated to Rule 28 Vessels Constrained by Their Draft. Vessels Constrained by Draft is so small compared to the vessels above and below it that I leave it out for simplicity sake and hit on it like the other nuances in the Rules such as sound signals made by RAM vessels in restricted visibility.

It goes between RAM and Fishing. It's International only. I have a video that covers that rule by itself.
