I remember in the original version there was a small room on level 1 that had a "Murphy's ghost". It was a monster that had a lot of hp but didn't doo too much damage. It took forever to kill him but when you did you wound up getting like 1000-2000 xp. It was a great way to grind character levels. You could leave the room and turn around and reenter. It would reset the monster so you could fight it over and over
