her Quill, pink lakes are a thing. they are caused by a algae that lives in extremely saline water. it usually turns the lake red, but depending on a lot of things it can also become pink

there are actually pink lakes. "Once the lake water reaches a salinity level greater than that of sea water, the temperature is high enough and adequate light conditions are provided, the alga begins to accumulate the red pigment beta carotene." from wikipedia. They are mostly not pink though.

These bacterias are called "archaea" (if im correct). They are able to survive in extreme conditions and most likely the first organism was an archaea.

Such pink lakes are caused by the reflection / breaking index of the salts in and below the water. You can see absolutely amazing examples of this in the Curaçao salt plains

Did they simplify the economy/building/transit system down? Can't remember the last version I played, but I remember once you started getting built up, there was definitely some traffic management needed. I hardly see a car on the roads here.

The lake is pink because of the salt content which causes a certain bacteria to thrive which causes the water to be pink. Common in certain parts of Australia

At first, I thought so too. But after seeing this video I am convinced. Besides being an improved version of Tropico 5 is not a bad thing to be. I mean the game now shows you which buildings actually count to "being in the vicinity" which to me is a huge improvement even though it requires just a bit of code.

Tropico 4 I had a island that was probably the closest to a utopia that you could possibly find. There was no crime, people where paid good wages and the national economy was huge, nobody was starving and everyone had jobs and even the entire island was powered by solar energy. There was out of over 700 people only 2 or 3 without a place to live but that wasn't because of the lack of housing it seemed they just liked living in tin shacks. The nation even had thriving tourism. But still some did not like El Presidente Simon but we even had a good size military which had to deploy from time to time because the rebels really liked attacking the monument to me. Every faction was happy from the Nationalist right down to the religious and environmentalist. The only ones that where the least happy but content where the communist but that is because I just wouldn't give everyone free shit for nothing. Most people where in the middle or high classes.

Only Presidentes personal economy matters.

Check Fun Quality to get an idea of where you need to place more Fun-oriented buildings and for what income group.

Quill starts out building a great economy, then just builds services buildings for an hour and wonder's why he's always negative haha.

Produce sugar to make chocolate and rum the rum you could probably export for a good price to help your coffers a bit. Atleast that is how I would of done it. Maybe tobacco to make cigars too along with a high school to educate people to fulfil the jobs by the industries to save money on hiring foreign workers which gets very pricey later on.

I think you are referring to a bug. I deleted my starting dock and rebuilt it. This allowed resources to begin flowing. It had a nasty hit on your starting economy though. I also am running into some sort of trade route bug. Missions aren't completing on finalization of trade routes. My favorite island also has floating rocks on it but I can get over that.

Hey, this looks fun, but the reviews aren't exactly kind on bugs and QoL.

The problem with Tropico is that the figures and economy never make sense or add up so after a while you realise that all your micro management is a waste of time, its all just tacked on to give you the illusion that its clever and deep...it isn't... i may pick it up in a year when there giving it away free on steam or some other platform
