Really enjoying the vibe of this series. Fathis grumpily getting just by whilst trying to get back to his old glory. It's a lot of fun.

@@sirmount2636 Yeah, it's a flaw of games of this era, where age is a slider and not anything hooked onto in dialogue. But I like to image it's being said with irony.

I was legtimately chuckling at the number of times Idgrod Jr. ran by chasing after little Jorik while you were talking with Maggs. Fathis has found the Kaiju tree, whose golden fruit bears the next generation of creation deities.... That was not on my bingo card for this LP....

the rambling predictions sounded like they were actually part of some thieves guild quest, but they were vague enough that I am headcanoning them to be about Fathis, the mentions about ash, returning, long eons of time and taking power you maybe shouldn't have were just too tempting

You know what, that's a really fuckin good point. Meridia probably hates Fathis, or at the very least would instantly smite him for his terrible vibes (from her perspective). Also I'm glad you're including little Strahg breaks. He's fine, and having him around is useful. But boy he really does shout a lot. Regardless! I'm glad you seem to be having a good time and I'm always happy to see a new episode.

he said in an earlier video that he likes the part where Fathis has to work hard for all the money he makes, so grabbing one I believe he's unbothered with but just getting them all is what would break that for him.

I love when there isn’t a script and the player just well plays! Way better than most content these days.

@sorcererdave You should totally download Xelzaz mod! He’s a Telvanni Argonian! Quite literally the best companion mod I’ve ever used. He can be found on the Morrowind border near Riften and near the entrance of Fort Dawnguard cave. He can make you potions, cook food, brew alcohol, comments on a ton of quests including Molag Bal quest, College of Winterhold, Wyrmtooth (with a patch), Azura’s quest, and more and you can give him gifts like Flint and Chitin plate and he has an affinity system. If it’s higher than 10, when you arrive at the hammerfell gate, he’ll decide to stay with you. He has two quests that I know of. One where you destroy the sleeping tree and another where he buys a guar so he can ride with you. Also when he gives you Telvanni bug musk at the first encounter with him, you can respond with “ah telvanni bug musk!” And he’ll ask you what house you’re apart of. Telvanni gives you 10 points. Redoran gives you 5. Hlaalu removes 5. Dres removes 10. Ashlander does nothing. Velothi ashlander does nothing as well. Indoril also does nothing but he doesn’t hate them.

Namira always has a way of making things feel a little bit Soulsy.

Morthal is the weirdo town...Strag would fit right in.

I'm having a great time, when I can't wait for the new one, I watch all the other episodes again. Not sure if I like Strarg much but I accept Fathis has the practical view if you do the job well you can serve. Also he seems to have a large amount of intellectual curiosity and no morals so he accepts the world at large, as long as it doesn't get in way which adds tension, not knowing who might die! I remember the boy who ended up a library...er...helper.

For future reference, there's plenty more gold ore in that mine if you ever need any.

If you're going for night eye, the mod that improves it is essential. Vanilla night eye has a hazy blue filter that actually makes it HARDER to see most of the time. The mod gets rid of the filter and makes it infinitely more useful.

All those Scottish Nords again,here in modded Special Edition.lol.The underground roads would be more immersive if they were dwemer themed.Some of the old lady's gobbledygook could apply to the Thieves Guild and some the Dark Brotherhood.Presumably that was Namira ,doing the Boethiah trick.Wonder is Fathis will discover a long suppressed craving for Long Pig?

I wonder what Strahg's backstory is. Utterly traumatic I assume.

*of the Hesperides, but maybe that's a bit niche. Though a special named dragon called Ladon protecting a tree that grows golden apples sounds like a fun quest; is there a Labors of Herakles mod that adds a bunch of Greek mythology-based quests?

@@jay15951 can do both, every inn sells it for cheap. And salt + Deathbell mega boost alch exp so far up it gose up Mehrunes dagon ass in Oblivion haha 😂

I'm honestly not a fan of Maggs and the modded quest line she's a part of. She and it don't really mesh well with the rest of the game, and it shows in the writing and even the voice acting (which is good, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel like part of Skyrim). I honestly felt the same way about a lot of the Uvirith's Legacy quests in Morrowind, too: not very lore-friendly, a huge quest unrelated to almost anything else in the game, and writing that's pretty good for a mod but kinda meh from a modern gaming perspective. (Probably as good as can be expected from a small mod team/single person, but still. Also, a reminder to anyone writing this sort of thing: you're never as good a poet as you think you are, and bad poetry is a great way to lose the audience. And yes, I'm aware that I'm not as good at poetry as the mediocrity I see in my own work, it's good to be self-aware.) Basically, it's the sort of thing that would be entertaining if you were doing a playthrough of side quests only and wanted a few longer non-canon ones to spice things up, but if you're role-playing with any awareness of the game lore or ever plan on doing the main quest, I feel like these sorts of mods are best left out, both as a player and as someone watching the LP. Of course, it can be hard to tell what's worth leaving in or not, since in a lot of ways you have to play it to know how well it meshes, like how Skyrim Underground is maybe a bit lore-unfriendly but meshes well with the game, or how Rise of House Telvanni is much better integrated than Uvirith's Legacy.

honestly when i was watching the fathis series lgnpc, rise of house telvanni and uvirith's legacy just sort of blended together for me till it almost felt like fathis was being sent live new issues to resolve as archmagister the arc where he was warping all over the map slowly trying to make his pilgrimage to necrom while the house kept bothering him and the much earlier arc when he was poor and working for the wizards of the telvanni isles were probably the closest I've ever seen to a Bethesda RPG player character feeling like they had an actual job lol

Bleh, I was getting Maggs confused with someone else, thought she was part of the same quest as the beggar in the Whiterun hall of the dead. Same bad poetry, I guess. Much of my criticism withdrawn, she's just supposed to be an "interesting" character, and, while it's nice to have more people with unique dialogue, the generic prophecy schtick kinda falls flat 1. In Morthal where you already get it from the jarl, and 2. When there's already so many characters doing the same thing in the game. So, not the best executed interesting character (as opposed to, say, Inigo, who is much better-written) instead of part of a quest chain that belongs in a different game.
