Bluey's VA is growing up, remember, so her voice will inevitably change. It's hard to say for sure if all the kids are the same actors from the show.

As someone who’s done 3D modeling of the Heeler house it’s interesting to see how they chose to do the layout in this game, since the house in the show is non-Euclidean and the layout is impossible. They did a fare job but there are some elements that are consistent in the show that this got wrong, like the kitchen should be the room to the left of the upstairs living room.

The mouth shapes are drawn as vectors but they get rasterized when the animation is rendered. They also need to be rasterized to be used as a texture for a 3D model.

It looks like they converted the vectors of the mouth to bitmap before doing so, likely to save on memory usage but.. such a weird choice

It's crazy that we've had the technology to render real-time, antialiased vector animation since the late '90s, but there's never been a mainstream, standalone, cross-platform game engine that can natively handle it.

I think it's probably the fact that for a video game you have to record a lot more lines than like a scripted episode. So it might be the original cast is just a lot more difficult to get good. Line reads

So in regards to Bluey’s voice sounding off, I know we can’t confirm since the children actors are kept unlisted in the series, however in this gameplay some of Bluey’s lines reminded me of what Mackenzie’s voice actor sounds like.

@SabersparkHighlights Yes, the Heelers' kitchen and living room are canonically upstairs. Apparently, when it comes to multi-level homes in Australia, the kitchen and the living room being upstairs is the norm.

Second comment but the layout is pretty accurate! The kitchen is upstairs for some reason, and can be seen when they're replacing the stump in the yard, and one other time where there was some party going on from my memory, as well as a shot in the mini bluey one. It does appear to change a few times in the series, but we also do see chilly moving furnature about often, so there may even just be changes in which room is used for what 😂

I could definitely see a bluey game where you play one of their long form games, maybe as like a partner-based platformer. The animation reminds me a lot of the steven universe save the light game, so i could also see an rpg. Honestly any genre works well for bluey

i feel like maybe how they recorded the audio for the game was from their homes rather then actually in a studio, which is why it sounds weirder then normal and they if they did get a different voice actor for bluey maybe its because the main voice actor for her was too nervous to record lines for something like this?

@@Optimegatrongodzilla I mean, considering how lazy the game feels in general, I'd definitely say that the game just recycling music from the TV series is a result of the developers' laziness. There could've been some composer who wanted to make some nice original music, but the rest of the development team wanted to get their paycheck early & thus they threw in random tracks from the show & called it a day. What I'm saying is, yes, it IS lazy, because it more or less shows just how little the developers or publisher cared.

I read that as Bluey and Bingo’s voice actors get older, the way the studio keeps them sounding the same is they’ve been electronically tweaking their voices, not with AI, but techniques like speeding up their voices and pitch shifting them, stuff that has been used in media for decades. My guess is those tweaks were not applied to the voices for this game which is why Bluey sounds off

animation in a video games is very different than normal animation. it’s harder to animate flat 2d assets in a 3d open world. the assets are definitely different than the ones in the show it has different line art. i’m kinda tired of these youtubers who purely blame the workers that were probably overworked when it was probably on time constraints like most video games. you know next to nothing on the production. also it’s a game for actual babies

People bashing this game for no good reason. Is it top-tier? No. But it isn't bad. The show is meant for preschoolers, why would the game be otherwise? The game was so quick because: 1) no collecting of items or looking around was being done until the end 2) you don't need to make a game a hundred hours long to be effective 3) the grown-ass man with many years experience with playing video games that happens to have developed greater hand-eye coordination than literal 5-year-olds (the target player), blitzef the through the storyline. Is it still short? Yes. It could've done with one or two more overarching narratives (the treasure hunt) stretched across multiple more "episodes", while still keeping the house as the hub. It still isn't all that bad for a children's game, and I don't mean by the old, lazy "good enough for a kid's game" standards that have been made over the years. Most video games for a similar age group are outright pale shadows of this game, visually, narratively, and in interactivity. This game has: 1) good music 2) solid representation of its source material's characters, locations, and art style 3) room to move around in each area, as opposed to a narrow path that railroads you to the next task 4) minigames you can play at any time, after you unlock them 5) a variation in locations that are each distinct, instead of just lazy pallet swaps 6) interactivity with the environment that gives the impression of each area being an actual space that is lived in, rather than just a space things happen in It has some minor flaws (lip syncing is off; occasional minor clipping; short run-time) so it wouldn't earn a 9 or 10 out of 10, but it certainly does not deserve to be treated like a 3/10. Remember, this game isn't meant for you. It is made for a players that may not have developed their spacial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and/or familiarity with common video game mechanics. There are supposed AAA games with hundreds of millions of dollars put behind them that couldn't hold a candle to this game, but those charge up to $70 for their base games, while Bluey charges $40. And who knows, maybe if pushed, the studio may release extra "episodes" as patches or free DLC in the future to extend the game. At least the game is complete on arrival, and doesn't need a Day-One patch or update patches weeks or months later to be complete.

I mean, the game is beautiful, but the gameplay is meh, even for preschoolers. It's mostly "run around, watch a video, run around, watch another video." And it's sad cuz running around the house must be awesome for them. But I compare this to the games I played as a kid and it's missing something to me.
