You can communicate peer to peer with other nodes and extend network locally eg www.project-owl.com has similar technology that u can use with any lora device and share GPS data without gateway or internet

Arduino has very little memory for large code, use raspberry pi instead.

Fail! 1. No Wifi or GSM need but the gateway use wifi (ethenet or SIM) to push the data to cloud. 2. Need to keep in range between the node and gateway, fail to track big movement like vehicle.
