Let's Make Ebunuebunu/ Abunuabunu / Cocoyam Leaves/ Kontomire/ Spinach Soup (Authentic Ghana Style)

Ebunuebunu is one of the soups that brings back amazing childhood memories! It was one of my Dad's favorite; so making it these days definitely makes me miss him more and more!
I hope you try this recipe for you and yours! I believe it will be part of your amazing food memories, just as it is mine!
You will need:
1 whole smoked mackerel (salmon)
Dried fish (adwene)
Kontomire, Taro Leaves, Cocoyam Leaves (2 bunches) or Spinach (about 6-8 cups)
Supaku (about an inch) or koobi or momone (fermented fish)
Crab- 5-7 pcs
Toolo Beef (salted beef)- 3-4 pcs
Snails- about 6-8 large ones
3 large onions
2-4 scotch bonnet peppers (green ones)
Turkey Berries (Kwahu Nsusua/ Abedro)- 1 cup
1 small tomato
Okra/Okro- for garnish (optional)
About 4-6 cups of water (for boiling the pepper, kontomire, snails etc)

You can ground your pepper and beans. Cooking and cooking again removes the green and denature it!

Agnes....nope; personally, I don't need it in this particular soup, But you can definitely add a small amount to it 🥰🥰

Because traditionally ebunuebunu isn't made with any spices....just salt. You get your seasoning from the natural flavours of the onions and protein options

There was! I added green Scotch bonnet peppers to give the spice; i blended it with the turkey berries.
