Let's Make a Field for Wargaming using Teddy Bear Fleece

Ойындар

This week, as teddy bear material can be quite expensive, I’m going to try making a field for Wargaming using a cheap teddy bear fleece that I picked up in a charity shop. Being double sided I had to borrow my dogs hair clippers. It was a close shave but I think it came off😉

Such a great idea. I use 12”x12” wooden artists plinths to build modular game boards with. This idea will work perfectly with those.

I was going to suggest you make the test piece a fire damaged field, but then you went and repaired it. lol. I mix cheap brown and black paint to filler so damaged bits don't show up as white. Nice job.

Thanks mate, it’s one I’ll revisit I think and explore using colour. Fleece was so much cheaper than teddy bear fur, so at least I’ll have cheaper source of material 😉

Yeh deffo need to comb some green through them, I have a 6x4 ft piece dyed it green with roads shaved out of it and cut it shorter overall with scissors so not all same length. Used dif lighter shades of green spray paint at dif angles. Great video with some useful ideas.

Yes, I think I will revisit these in the future and experiment with colour. The good thing that came from this first go was that I found I could use this teddy bear fleece, which was so much cheaper than buying teddy bear fur. Thanks for watching and for the feedback, much appreciated 😉

Great "how to" as ever. Mentioning the different glue effect is a great benefit as some may want a different effect. Bomb crater would be good to see. Also, have you considered doing irregular shaped fields to add to the look of your overall board? (Not crazy irregular but "L" shaped or quadrilateral)

Thanks so much, yes irregular fields would be a good idea and I like the bomb crater idea too, I’ll perhaps explore those ideas in the near future. Thanks for watching 😉
